For quite a while now, we have been receiving leaks and rumors surrounding the potential launch of the Xiaomi Mi Band 5. Xiaomi launched its Mi Band 4 back in 2019 and is reportedly gearing up for the launch of its successor. A couple of days ago, a new leak popped up on the internet, which suggested that the Mi Band 5 could come with support for NFC and is likely to pack in an SpO2 sensor as well. Today, a new bunch of leaked live images has arrived, which gives us a working clue as to what the Mi Band 5 could possibly look like. Take a look at the alleged live images of the Mi Band 5 and find out what we know about Xiaomi’s upcoming fitness tracker so far.
Xiaomi Mi Band 5 live images leaked; here’s what we know so far
As seen in the alleged images of the Mi Band 5, the Mi Band 5 will likely feature a bigger display when compared with its predecessor. The Mi Band 5 also appears to have incorporated a new plug-in type charger. The overall design of the alleged Mi Band 5 appears to fall in line with the likes of the previous generation model – there’s a flat display with a capacitive button sitting at the bottom. It sure looks flatter than its predecessor, however.
The Mi Band 5 is also tipped to feature NFC support globally, meaning that the company will most likely retain NFC support for the global variant of the Mi Band 5 as well, something which we missed out on in the previous generation Mi Band 4. Furthermore, the Mi Band 5 is said to feature Amazon Alexa support and a feature to track menstrual cycles of women. As far as Amazon Alexa is concerned, the leak suggests that it will be available on both the Chinese, as well as the global variant of the Mi Band 5. Plus, the Mi Band 5 is said to feature a Personal Activity Intelligence (PAI) feature, which will make use of heart-rate data to show users as to how much physical activity they need to do in order to stay healthy.
As far as pricing goes, the leak suggests that the Mi Band 5 could be priced at around CNY 200, which roughly translates to somewhere around $28. This, however, is nowhere near the final confirmation as of now, so we would suggest our readers to take it with a slight grain of salt till the time we receive something concrete.
As of now, this is pretty much all the intel that we have surrounding the upcoming Mi Band 5, but we will keep you posted on the same should we receive anything about it in the future. What are your thoughts on the Mi Band 5? Do let us know in the comments section below.
