OnePlus, for the first time, introduced a cheaper R variant with the OnePlus 9 series. Recently, a report revealed that the company will introduce the OnePlus 9RT smartphone sometime in October. The handset will be a mid-year refresh and is expected to bring some improvements over the existing OnePlus 9R. Now, detailed specifications of the upcoming OnePlus handset have appeared on the Chinese micro-blogging site – Weibo. Going by the latest leak, the upcoming 9RT will come with an upgraded camera system, while the processing unit is said to remain the same as the 9R. OnePlus 9RT Leaked Specifications!

The OnePlus 9RT is said to have a 6.55-inch FHD+ E3 AMOLED display with 2400×1080 pixel resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and an in-display fingerprint sensor. We can expect the handset to feature a punch-hole notch for the selfies camera, similar to the OnePlus 9 series smartphones. The handset will feature a glass sandwich design with Corning Gorilla Glass protection and aluminum alloy chassis if we go by the leak.

The upcoming OnePlus 9RT is said to be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor. This is the same processor that the OnePlus 9R sports. It might pack UFS 3.1 storage and LPDDR4X RAM. The leakster claims that the OnePlus 9RT will launch in three storage-memory configurations – 8GB + 128GB, 8GB + 256GB, and 12GB + 256GB.

One of the biggest changes on the 9RT, compared to the 9R, could be the inclusion of a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor. This shouldn’t come as a surprise as the recently launch mid-ranger OnePlus Nord 2 also sports the same 50MP primary shooter. Apart from Sony IMX766 shooter, the upcoming OnePlus 9RT is also said to offer a 16MP Sony IMX481 ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2MP B&W sensor.

The upcoming OnePlus handset is said to pack the same battery and charging tech as the OnePlus 9R. This means that we will see a 4,500mAh dual-cell battery with 65W fast-charging support on the upcoming OnePlus handset. It is also said to offer NFC, Dual stereo speaker setup, and X-axis vibration motor. The handset is said to boot OxygenOS 12, based on Android 12.
