5G Smartphones Being Used by 62.7% Users in India; Realme Most Used 5G Smartphone Brand Currently

324756

5G rollout in India is in full swing. Telecom operators and smartphone brands are working closely to make each device compatible with multiple operators. Airtel has plans to launch 5G services in all urban circles by September 2023 whereas Jio plans to cover whole India by December 2023.

MySmartPrice asked users how they are adopting 5G connectivity and what they expect more from it. We have compiled all the answers in our 5G Smartphone Consumer Report 2023. Let’s dive deep into the report and know how India’s 5G demographics is evolving.

5G Enabled Smartphones Have Become Common

`

In our survey, more than half of respondents revealed that they own a smartphone that supports 5G connectivity. About 62.7% of respondents owned a 5G-enabled smartphone whereas 29.8% don’t have a 5G handset but they are planning to upgrade. Rest, 7.4% respondents revealed that neither their handset supports 5G nor they have any plans to buy a new 5G smartphone.

Within months of 5G launch in India, users have started adopting the 5G technology and are all set to use the services, shows the data in survey.

Most 5G Users Own A Realme Smartphone But…

In our survey, it was revealed that most 5G users own a Realme smartphone however there was a huge decrease in interest when asked whether they would like to buy a new smartphone from the same company. Out of 18.7% respondents who own a 5G-enabled Realme phone, only 8.5% said they would upgrade to a Realme device again. Similarly, out of 13.7% Xiaomi users, only 7.3% want to continue with the brand. Apple, Samsung and OnePlus were the most preferred brands when it comes to upgrading to a new 5G device.

Surprisingly, Realme and Xiaomi were the most popular brands among those users who don’t own a 5G smartphone currently.

What’s the Popular Price Range of a 5G Smartphone in India?

India is a price conscious market which is one of the reasons why 5G smartphones are affordable in the country. While 5G smartphones start from Rs 10,000, users are willing to pay more for it. In our survey, about 25.6% of respondents – which is highest – are willing to pay between Rs 20,000 to Rs 30,000. In second place, about 20% of respondents are willing to pay Rs 10,000 to Rs 20,000 for a new 5G smartphone. About 7.1% of respondents do not want to spend their money on buying a new 5G smartphone.

Is 5G an Important Factor for Smartphone Buyers?

It has been noticed that cost cutting has become a common norm in smartphones that support 5G when compared to a 4G device in the same price bracket. But does 5G connectivity affect the buying decision of a smartphone buyer?

In our survey, 5G was voted as the most preferred feature over any other factor with a rating of 3.99 out of 5. Both display quality and battery life received a similar amount of response and were second and third preferred features of smartphone buyers respectively.

Jio is Most Preferred Operator for 5G Users, Ready to Pay More

Jio, Airtel and Vi (Vodafone-Idea) are the three major operators in India to offer 5G services. As of now, Jio and Airtel are the only operators to roll out their 5G services across India. Vi hasn’t revealed any timeline of their 5G services rollout in India.

To use 5G services, more than 60% respondents selected Jio assuring their trust on the operator. Around 27.2% of respondents prefer using Airtel as their 5G service provider.

As of now, operators are offering unlimited 5G data to their customers however they may start charging an amount for it in future. When asked whether they would wish to pay more for using 5G services, around 58.2% of users said yes while rest denied.

5G Use Cases and Expectations From It

With 5G being commercial now, everyone is curious on how it will change our daily internet usage. But before that, let’s check what users do on their smartphones. Around 52.6% of the respondents said in the survey that they spent more than 60 minutes daily on consuming content while 60% of users spent 30 – 120 minutes on social media platforms.

Users expect 5G will improve their experience of gaming, content creation, and social media. Around 64.6% users expect that 5G will improve one of the major issues i.e. to help them with better connectivity during travel. Rest expect 5G to bring better video streaming, gaming experience and less call drops.

Formula 1 (F1) Live Streaming: Where To Watch Australian GP In India on Mobile and Laptop for Free!

319362
Highlights

  • The third race of the season, the Australian GP, is here!
  • Disney+ Hotstar isn’t streaming F1 this year nor being live telecast on TV.
  • Here’s how to watch Formula 1 Australian GP on your phone, tablet, PC and TV.
319362

The third race of the 2023 F1 season is here! Australian Grand Prix will start on Sunday, April 2, at 10.30 AM.

Red Bull Racing could not have hoped for a better start to the season than this. It took 1-2 finishes on the first two races and is the strongest it has seen since the early 2010s. Max Verstappen is leading the championship table, followed closely by his teammate Sergio Perez who won the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.

Aston Martin has proven that its first race results weren’t one-off, and Fernando Alonso again made it to the podium, beating both Mercedes.

Both Mercedes beat Ferrari for fourth and fifth positions, and George Russel outperformed Lewis Hamilton once again in this 2023 season. It is a good result for the team, which is struggling to cope with its missteps in developing its cars for the season.

Ferrari had a disappointing weekend, with Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc finishing at P6 and P7, respectively.

You need to live stream the races to catch all the action in Formula 1. Unfortunately, Formula 1 will not be telecast on TV for this season.

Let’s talk about how to watch Formula 1 in India, what happened with the live telecast on TV, and more in this post.

Where To Watch Formula 1 Australian GP Live Streaming In India?

Formula 1 used to be live-streamed on Disney+ Hotstar. But if you’ve tried to live stream the Formula 1 races by searching for it, you will only find the Formula E races in the search results. Hotstar has also removed the option of Formula 1 under the Sports section in their app and website.

What happened was Formula 1 decided not to renew the TV and streaming rights with Star Sports and Disney+ Hotstar. Autocar India reports that Formula 1 felt the money the networks such as Star and Zee offered for this year’s Formula 1 TV rights was insufficient. Ian Holmes – Director of Media Rights and Content Creation at Formula 1, said, “We looked at the more traditional channels and platforms. Star was one of them. We had discussions with Zee and one or two others too. I want to be candid about this – we felt that the valuation of many of those parties placed on our property wasn’t similar to what we felt it was worth.”

Which TV Channel is F1 On In India?

Formula 1 isn’t being live telecast on any TV channels in India. It has been live telecast on Star Sports since 2012, and this year, it doesn’t have the rights to live telecast Formula 1.

How To Watch F1 Live Streaming In India?

Formula 1 has launched its own OTT platform F1 TV in India to live stream Formula 1. It wasn’t available in India till last month, as the company failed to come to agreements with any sports TV networks in India; F1 has decided to go with its own streaming service for India.

F1 TV Pro

F1 TV is Formula 1’s own live streaming app which live streams F1 races. It also has the complete backlog of Formula 1 races from previous years. It also has various shows on the platform, such as Tech Talk, Radio Rewind, Weekend Warm-Up, Jolyon Palmer’s Analysis, and more. Then there are various Formula 1 documentaries. F1 TV Pro also comes with access to content from the Formula 1 feeder series: F2 and F3. It also gives you access to Porsche Super Cup.

F1 TV Pro: Pricing

F1 TV Pro subscription costs Rs 299 per month or Rs 2499 per year.

F1 TV Pro: Features

  • Watch F1 live – Stream practice sessions, qualifying and the races.
  • Onboard cameras – Choose live onboard cameras of any driver at any time.
  • Team Radio – Listen to the live radio of every driver.
  • Live leaderboard data – Know who improves the time sector by sector.
  • Real-time telemetry – Live telemetry feeds from every car.
  • Best clips of Team Radio – Listen to all the best team radio.
  • Live driver maps – Track where every car is at the track live.
  • Tyre usage history – Follow the tyre changes closely.

F1 TV Pro: Available Devices

  • Computer – via the F1 TV website
  • Tablets – iPad and Android tablets
  • Phone – Android and iPhone
  • Smart TV – Android TV, Google TV, Fire TV, Apple TV & Roku

Unfortunately, the F1 TV app isn’t currently available for Samsung and LG TVs. You can try casting from F1 TV mobile app to your Samsung and LG TVs to watch F1 live streaming.

F1 TV Access: What is it?

The F1 TV app also has a different subscription tier called F1 TV Access. This subscription doesn’t come with live streaming of F1 races. Instead, it only carries delayed replays.

It also doesn’t come with live onboards or team radio. Not only that, you won’t get access to F2, F3 and Porsche Super Cup.

It costs Rs 239 per month or Rs 1,629 per year.

How To Watch Formula 1 Live Streaming For Free?

Believe it or not, Formula 1 is being live-streamed for free in Austria and Luxembourg. So if you have a VPN subscription that supports either of these countries, you can watch Formula 1 for free without paying for the F1 TV Pro subscription. You’d be paying for your VPN subscription, though.

Here are the links to the free live streaming of Formula 1 from other countries:

You can use premium VPN apps like NordVPN, Express VPN or PureVPN. All of these apps support servers in Austria and Luxembourg.

IPL 2023 Format and Rules

The format for this year’s IPL will be the same as that of the previous year. We have 10 teams this year, which will be divided into two groups. Each team will play 14 league games, out of which seven will be played at their home ground and seven away. The team winning the match will be awarded 2 points, while the losing team will get no points. In case the match is a draw, both teams will get 1 point.

Once the league matches are over, four top teams will enter the Playoffs around. In this round, the following action will take place:

  • Qualifier 1: In this, the top 2 teams of the group stage will compete against each other.
  • Eliminator: The third and fourth top teams in the group will battle out in this group. The loser will be eliminated from the tournament.
  • Qualifier 2: The loser of Qualifier 1 and the winner of the Eliminator round will fight with each other to go to the Finals.
  • Final: The winner of Qualifier 1 and Qualifier 2 will compete against each other to win the IPL trophy.

Impact Player Rule

The IPL 2023 will also see a new rule known as Impact Player. As the name suggests, the Impact Player will be a substitute player that can take part in an IPL match. This new concept will allow teams to replace the player in the field in case he retires hurt or does not perform well in the condition. The Impact player can bat or ball.

Each team will need to announce four substitute players before the match begins, and one of the four can be called an Impact player. However, the rules also mention that the Impact should be an Indian player unless there are fewer than 4 overseas players in the Playing XI. Captain will have the authority to nominate the Impact Player. The player which has been replaced by the Impact Player can no longer participate in the remainder of the match.

OnePlus is gearing up to launch its upcoming OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite 5G smartphone in India. The company will launch the smartphone on April 4, and it will be sold through Amazon.in. The brand has already revealed the battery and camera specifications of the forthcoming smartphone. It would be the first smartphone from OnePlus to feature a 108MP sensor. OnePlus is also working on the OnePlus Nord 3 smartphone, which is said to launch in Q2 of 2023. Yesterday, the smartphone was listed on a certification website for the first time revealing its model number. The forthcoming Nord 3 has been listed on various certification websites (via), including BIS.

OnePlus Nord 3 to Launch in India Soon: Tipped Specifications

Previously, the IMDA certification had revealed the upcoming Nord 3 smartphone would bear the model number CPH2493. The IMDA certification revealed that the device would support 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and NFC. The device has been listed in TUV certification, China Quality Certification Center (CQC) certification, and Indian BIS certification with the same model number.

The CQC certification also reveals that the smartphone would support 80W fast charging tech. The listing in BIS indicates that the smartphone launch is nearing in India. Earlier, we at MySmartPrice had exclusively revealed the launch timeline and specifications of the forthcoming device. OnePlus Nord 3 is said to launch by the end of June or July 2023 in India and other global markets.

A tipster had revealed that OnePlus would rebrand the OnePlus Ace 2V smartphone as Nord 3 for global markets. The specifications of the OnePlus Ace 2V are similar to the tipped specifications by our source. There are a few differences regarding the primary camera and display size. The smartphone would equip a 6.72 inches AMOLED display with an FHD+ resolution.

The display will have a refresh rate of 120Hz and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Underneath, it will be equipped with the Nord 3 smartphone with MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset built on a 4nm process. The chipset will pair with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. OnePlus would equip the smartphone with OxygenOS 13 based on Android 13 out of the box.

In the optics department, the Nord 3 is tipped to feature a triple rear camera setup with LED flash. A 50MP primary sensor with OIS and f/1.8 aperture would be equipped instead of a 64MP sensor on Ace 2V. An 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2MP macro sensor would accompany the primary sensor.

The display would have a punch-hole in the centre to house the 16MP selfie camera. A large 5000 mAh battery would back the smartphone with support for 80W SuperVOOC fast charging tech. Since the OnePlus Nord 2T is equipped with an alert slider, OnePlus would integrate an alert slider with OnePlus Nord 3 smartphone.

What do you think about the forthcoming OnePlus Nord 3 smartphone? Please share your thoughts on the upcoming device in the comments section.
