Honor Launches MagicBook Touchscreen Laptops in Two Variants With Intese Gaming Capabilities in China

If you missed the Honor Note 10 launch, then you might have also missed the fact that Huawei’s sub-brand also launched a premium notebook called the MagicBook. The newly launched Honor MagicBook is available with two processor variants to choose from, and potential buyers that want to get their hands on the machine can also configure it according to their liking, taste, and preference.

Honor MagicBook: Launch Details

The latest Honor MagicBook is an upgraded model from the previous 14-inch MagicBook launched a while back, and the latest models also feature touchscreen capability now. From a design perspective, Honor did not change much, but there is an interesting internal variation that readers will want to know about. For the longest time, notebook manufacturers have relied on Intel and its chips, but this time things are going to be a little different.

The Honor MagicBook gives buyers a choice to get the machine in either an Intel or an AMD processor. From the Intel side, the MagicBook will sport a Kaby Lake-R chip, while the AMD version will ship with a Ryzen ‘U’ series processor. If you want to know the detailed hardware specifications and features of the notebook, you can read the rest of the information given below.

Honor MagicBook: Specifications, Features

The Honor MagicBook features a 14-inch display with a 1920 x 1080 resolution and a maximum brightness level of 250 nits. It is not the brightest display in the world but it should be doing fine for a lot of users. The touchscreen capability of the Honor MagicBook supports Microsoft’s full gesture control, and this includes sliding, zooming, or any other function you want to be carrying out on the machine using just your fingers.

The display of the Honor MagicBook is also compatible with a stylus that sports 4096 levels of pressure and the notebook ships with the Windows 10 Home edition operating system. Coming to the hardware specifications, the MagicBook can be armed with either an Intel Core i5-8250U quad-core processor or an AMD Ryzen 5 2500U mobile chip.

Both of these processors can be paired with 8GB of LPDDR3 2133MHz RAM and 256GB of PCIe solid state storage, and if you want slightly better performance, you can choose the Core i7-8550U model by paying slightly more. The Intel chip comes with an NVIDIA MX150 GPU with 2GB of GDDR5 memory while the AMD one ships with onboard Vega 8 graphics. Honor claims that the build quality of the notebook is fantastic and they have even integrated a fingerprint reader in the power button that can unlock the home screen in 0.9 seconds.

The battery capacity of the Honor MagicBook is 57.4Wh, with the company claiming that the laptop will be able to deliver up to 12 hours of battery life. The notebook weights 1.47Kg and touts an 81% screen-to-body ratio. The ports selection is decent; you get a single USB-C port that can be used for charging via Huawei’s 65W adapter and other functions, 1 x USB 3.0, 1 x USB 2.0, 1 x HDMI port, 1 x 3.5mm headphone jack and microphone combo.

Honor MagicBook: Expected Price in India

The AMD-powered variant of the Honor MagicBook is priced at 4599 yuan, making it cost approximately Rs. 45999, while the Intel-running variants will cost you 5699 yuan for the starting model, or approximately Rs. 56999. There are three coloured variants that you can choose from and they are Glacier Silver, Starry Sky, and Nebula Purple.
