OnePlus launched its first-ever smartwatch, the OnePlus Watch, on March 23. The smartwatch will go on sale starting April 15. It will be available at an introductory price of Rs 14,999. For the price, the watch offers a bunch of smart health and fitness related features. However, the OnePlus Watch did not come with a key feature available on some of its competitors – Always-on Display (AOD). A new post on the company’s community forums suggests that the smartwatch might soon get the missing feature. The feature is not confirmed to come to the smartwatch yet. However, OnePlus said it is evaluating the possibility of brining it via an OTA update.
OnePlus Watch was launched in India for Rs 16,999. The smartwatch comes with a bunch of features but misses out on Always-On Display support. OnePlus has now hinted that its smartwatch could soon get the AOD feature.
In its community forum, the company said that AOD is a much-requested feature. However, the always-on display will lead to an increase in power consumption by up to 50 percent. The company is currently looking at things like how it impacts power consumption and are evaluating the possibility to bring this feature in a future OTA.
The post also covers a bunch of other questions related to the OnePlus smartwatch. You can click here to check the community forum post.
The OnePlus Watch features a 1.39-inch HD AMOLED display with a 454×454 resolution. It comes with a 46mm circular shape. The watch has a stainless steel case and comes in two colours – Midnight Black and Midnight Silver. It runs on RTOS-based OS and comes with an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance.
The smartwatch comes with a three-chip combination solution – ST32 + Apollo 3 + Cypress. The ST chip has strong performance and is responsible for the interactive interface of the UI. It also has the Apollo 3 SoC, which is a low power consumption chip. Lastly, Cypress is a professional communication chip that supports the Bluetooth call and Bluetooth music functions of the watch.
The smartwatch also comes with automatic workout detection with over 110 workout modes. Like most smartwatches, the Watch comes with various health and fitness modes. It features a SpO2 sensor, sleep tracking, heart rating monitoring, and stress tracking.
The device has a 402 mAh battery. OnePlus claims that it can offer up to two weeks of juice on a single charge. Users can also get a week worth of battery life by charging the watch for 20 minutes.

Oppo is set to launch the standard variant of its newly introduced F19 series in India. The smartphone will be unsurprisingly called Oppo F19, and the launch of the smartphone has now been officially confirmed via an Oppo India tweet. In the tweet announcing the launch of Oppo F19 on April 6th, the company has also confirmed that the smartphone will feature 33W fast charging as one of its key specifications. Interestingly, all other details about the upcoming smartphone have also been revealed, thanks to its official listing on the Oppo Sri Lanka website.
The Oppo F19 appears to feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 SoC, paired with 6GB LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB internal storage. Only one RAM and storage appears to be available for the device. The F19 features a 6.43-inch full HD+ AMOLED display panel, with 800 nits peak brightness, 409ppi pixel density and standard 60Hz refresh rate, with 180Hz touch sampling rate for better gaming efficiency.
In terms of cameras, the Oppo F19 will feature a 48MP triple rear camera with additional 2MP depth and macro units. Up front, on the left-aligned drill-hole slot, the F19 features a 16MP selfie shooter. The F19 will only be able to shoot videos at 30fps, at a max resolution of 1080p. It features a 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging, which has also been confirmed by Oppo India.
The F19 runs on Android 11 and has a 3.5mm audio port, but will only have 4G connectivity.
While no details about the pricing have been revealed, the Oppo F19 will certainly be a sub-Rs 20,000 smartphone. It is important to note that among rival OEMs, the Poco M3 by Xiaomi offers similar specifications at a price of Rs 11,999 (with the same SoC, RAM and storage options), so the F19 may be priced similarly to offer strong competition in the mid-budget price range.

If you have been playing the Korean version of PUBG Mobile since the Indian government shut it down, your days are numbered. The game’s holding company, Krafton Inc, has confirmed that it will stop all global players from accessing the Korean version of the game from June 30 onwards. “KRJP build is a version of local service for users living in Korea or Japan. For those who live in other countries or regions, your local version or Global version is available,” the company said in an Instagram post from the game’s official handle. “Please note that all these changes are for a better service, nothing related to inequality or discrimination,” it added.
According to the post, users who aren’t in Korea or Japan will not be able to play the Korean version of the game from May 1. If they are able to login in some way, they might have network troubles. The changes will be put into effect for Indian users from June 30 onwards, the post added.
The blockage suggests that the company may have seen an unforeseen uptick in the traffic coming to the game’s Korean version since the Indian government banned it late last year. Social media posts and other reports have said that many Indian users have been resorting to using virtual private networks (VPNs) to access different servers of PUBG Mobile since the ban. The Korean version being one of the most popular ones, would definitely have been amongst the most preferred versions of PUBG Mobile for many users.
It’s worth noting though that the company didn’t explain how it will enforce this ban. The Instagram post suggests that users who have accessed the PUBG Mobile KR build of the game by installing APKs of the app, will have trouble playing the game. It doesn’t say much about VPN users.
Of course, Krafton may not have to do anything about VPN users in the first place, because unlike streaming services, it’s not particularly feasible for multiplayer games to be played over VPNs. VPN networks bounce a signal over multiple servers, in order to hide the original user’s location. But this also affects the speed at which the data travels, increasing the latency, which can be a make or break element when you’re playing competitively.

Additionally, a few days ago, the Galaxy S20 FE 4G was even spotted on Geekbench. Ahead of the official launch, we also had spotted the support pages for the upcoming Galaxy S20 FE 4G variant on Samsung’s UK, Malaysia, and Philippines websites. The FCC documents reveal that the upcoming variant will pack a 4500mAh battery with 15W charging support. The phone will even offer wireless charging support. Apple is known for its innovative tech and setting trends be it notch design display, Face ID technology, removal of charging adapter, and more. Today the company has received an array of patent approval from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, which might leave you amazed. The approved patents include a reconfigurable solid-state MacBook keyboard and a patent for future iPhones which is said to arrive with the Mac Pro’s 3D cheese grater design. Let’s have a closer look at the patents approved by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
“The design is to provide maximum airflow to keep devices running cooler. As future iPhones are destined to use more powerful processors and GPUs, Apple’s engineers spent a lot of time in this patent illustrating that the new 3D structural design may be headed for a future iPhone Pro model,” reads Patently Apple.
According to a report from 9to5Mac, Apple has received a total of 77 patents today from the USPTO. Further, the report suggests that the tech giant is planning to incorporate the Mac Pro’s cheese grater design on the future iPhones. The company claims that the 3D design in the future iPhones will help the phone to manage heat and structural support. This could be important because the company is making the smartphone more and more powerful with every passing year. Here’s how Apple describes the modern 3D structure of the future iPhones.
“A structure can include a body having a first surface and a second opposing surface. The three-dimensional structure can include the body defining a first pattern of first cavities extending into the body from the first surface and the body defining a second pattern of second cavities extending into the body from the second surface. One or more first cavities can eccentrically intersect with one or more second cavities to define a pattern of apertures in the body,” reads Patently Apple.
The patent also includes images that shows how Mac Pro cheese grater design is going to be implemented on future iPhones. The patent shows that the cheese grater design will be included on the exterior and interior of the smartphone.
However, it’s important to note that every year Apple receives several patent approvals from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, but many of them never turned out to be an actual product. It’s advisable for all the reads not to get too excited about the Mac Pro cheese grater design iPhone and wait for the official announcement. It would be interesting to see how Apple is going to carry this design without compromising on the water and dustproof feature.

Google Stack is here, and it is the latest in a line of Google’s AI based apps and services that might just make your life easier in terms of all the physical documents that you may have on you. Made by the Area 120 team at Google, Stack uses technology based on the Google DocAI artificial intelligence engine, to intelligently gauge content that you can with your camera and transform into PDF files. Essentially, by using Google Stack, you can potentially turn your paper bills into digital PDFs, and also get the text content of the PDFs in a searchable format.
Christopher Pedregal, team leader of Stack, wrote on the official Google blog post, “Take a photo of a document and Stack will scan it, automatically name it for you, and suggest the right category — or “stack,” as we call them — for you to store it in. Stack will identify important information in your documents (such as “due date” or “total amount due”) and pull it out to make it easier to find and access. You can also search through the full text of your documents (not just the title) to quickly find what you need.”
All the documents that you scan via Google Stack will be saved in your Google Drive storage, so you can access them at any moment you please. Pegregal also states that with Stack, users can choose to add a layer of security by requiring face or fingerprint authentication — something that might be key since Google Stack wants you to scan all your bills, paychecks and important documents to classify in terms of the text in them. In short, you wouldn’t want everyone to see the information that’s stored in your Stacks folders.
However, it’s important to note that Stack is right now only an experiment, which means that it may also not make it to a stable, public build. Google itself admits that Stack still makes plenty of mistakes in terms of its text recognition, but it certainly sounds like a more than worthy successor to CamScanner, and definitely a far more intelligent one than the latter — or any standard PDF document scanner, for that matter. Stack will only be available in USA for Android, at least for now.

PUBG developers, Tencent, introduced a Lite version of the game back in 2019. The new version was launched to help players run the battle royale on budget and midrange devices without demanding too many hardware resources. After a bit over four years of its launch, the game has been shut down. The developers confirmed the news via an in-game message and a blog-post. The developers informed that the Lite version cannot be played after April 29. However, players will continue to get customer support until May 29. Let’s take a look at more details around PUBG Lite shutting down.
PUBG Lite developers have announced that the game will shut down soon. Players can continue to play the battle royale until April 29.
The developers took to the official blog post to confirm the news. “We are deeply grateful for the passion and support from the astounding number of PUBG LITE fans that have been with us. During the strenuous times of the COVID-19 pandemic, we hope that PUBG LITE was able to provide our fans with a fun way to stay safe. Unfortunately, we have made the difficult decision to close service after much deliberation and the time has come for our journey to end. We regretfully inform you that service of PUBG LITE is scheduled to end on April 29th, 2021 (UTC),” the blog post read.

The Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G has finally launched in India. The smartphone’s launch was confirmed for March 30 by Samsung India on Twitter, and the smartphone was also listed on the official Samsung website with a ‘Notify Me’ option. The company had already launched the 4G variant of the Galaxy S20 FE in India earlier, and now, the Galaxy S20 FE 5G marks what possibly is the least expensive flagship-grade 5G smartphone by Samsung in India.
The Galaxy S20 FE 5G is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC, as opposed to an Exynos SoC on the 4G variant, along with 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. It also gets a hybrid dual-SIM slot for microSD card-based storage expansion. To the front, it has a 6.5-inch Super AMOLED full HD+ display with 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support. This panel also has a punch-hole slot for the front-facing camera, which gets a 32MP sensor, and can take up to 4K videos or full HD videos at 60fps.
To the rear, the Galaxy S20 FE 5G features a triple camera setup featuring 12MP primary, 8MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom, and 12MP ultra-wide units. Both the main and telephoto units get optical stabilisation. The Galaxy S20 FE 5G also gets Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth LE connectivity, and features an under-display fingerprint sensor. The entire setup is powered by a 4,500mAh battery with support for 25W fast charging, and comes in six colour variants — Lavender, Mint, Navy, White, Red and Orange.
The Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G is priced at Rs 55,999 but it’s being offered at an introductory price of Rs 47,999 after Rs 8,000 off as instant cashback. This price can be availed from March 31 on Samsung.com, Amazon and Samsung Exclusive Stores and other retail outlets.
Looking at the price, the Galaxy S20 FE 5G will be competing against the OnePlus 9, Vivo X60 Pro, ROG Phone 5 and last year’s OnePlus 8 Pro along with the iPhone 11.

Smartphone maker Xiaomi has announced a new image signal processor, called the Surge C1, which is the first self-developed imaging chip from the company. The chip will run on the company’s new Mi Mix Fold smartphone and is separated from the processor, which will still be delivered by Qualcomm. According to Xiaomi, the company invested RMB 140 million on the research and development for the chip, and it has been developed over the past two years. The chip is supposed to use less processor and memory and is supposed to improve on existing solutions. It uses a “3A” algorithm, which stands for auto focus (AF), accurate white balance (AWB) and automatic exposure (AE).
The company hasn’t given out many details about the chip, but we can gauge some details about the chip from what we were told. For instance, the company says the camera will be more like the human eye, which is likely less about the chip and more about the new Liquid Lens technology that works on this device. This is literally a new type of lens that uses a liquid inside for changing the lens’s shape when needed. The technology is supposed to emulate the workings of a human eye.
Liquid lenses save space in a way and are well suited to foldable phones like the Mi Mix Fold, where space is a big concern for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). Xiaomi could use the lens to its advantage on its future foldable phones too.
About the chip itself, the image signal processor seems to put more software into imaging, by automating white balance, focus and more. The chip uses a dual-filter configuration that deals with low and high frequency signals separately. The process is supposed to bring 100% signal efficiency.
While the Surge C1 is the first imaging chip from Xiaomi, it isn’t actually the first in-house chip from the company. The company had announced the first Surge-branded processing chip in 2017, and development for the same began as early as 2014. At the time, the Surge chip was expected to take on Samsung’s Exynos chipsets and Huawei’s Kirin branded processors.

That both Android and iOS devices collect and send over a lot of user data to their remote servers is not particularly breaking news. However, in a new study, data researcher Douglas Leith from the Trinity College in Ireland has claimed that both Android and iOS continue to send vast amounts of user telemetry data to Google and Apple — alarmingly, even when a user has specifically opted out of device diagnostic data collection. What’s even more alarming is the amount of data that Google seems to be collecting with Android — at startup, the average Android device reportedly sends almost 1MB data to Google’s servers, whereas Apple sends about 42kB.
The study further goes on to say that while at idle, an Android device collects about 1MB data every 12 hours, whereas iOS sends about 52kB. Just for the USA region, Android is seemingly collecting a total of 1.3TB data every 12 hours, while for iOS, that amount reads 5.8GB. Leith has also claimed that both Android and iOS send data to their servers even when users do seemingly basic or everyday tasks — such as browsing through settings, or inserting a SIM card. He also found out that preinstalled apps in both Android and iOS send data to remote servers regularly, even when they are not opened or used. These apps include Siri, Safari and iCloud in iOS, and the likes of Chrome, YouTube, Google Docs and more in Android.
Google, however, has denied the allegations and called the method of study flawed. In response to Leith’s study, a Google spokesperson stated, “According to our research, these findings are off by an order of magnitude, and we shared our methodology concerns with the researcher before publication. This research largely outlines how smartphones work. Modern cars regularly send basic data about vehicle components, their safety status and service schedules to car manufacturers, and mobile phones work in very similar ways. This report details those communications, which help ensure that iOS or Android software is up to date, services are working as intended, and that the phone is secure and running efficiently.”
A spokesperson for Google also told Ars Technica that it is “inaccurate” to assume that opting out of diagnostic data collection means opting out of complete telemetry data tracking, since the two things work differently. Telemetry data, for instance, is reportedly essential for sourcing software updates to devices. An Apple spokesperson, in response, told Ars Technica that the report had gotten the data collection principles wrong as Apple offers “transparency and control for personal information”, and “protections that prevent Apple from tracking user locations.”
The data collection on Android and iOS devices was measured on multiple accounts, including first startup following a factory reset, when a SIM was inserted or removed, when a handset remained idle, when the settings screen was viewed, when location was enabled or disabled on device, and when a user logged into a phone’s preinstalled app store. More details about the study can be accessed here.

Tencent is among the biggest names in the gaming industry that has been involved in games like PUBG and Call of Duty: Mobile. Some Players have been found using cheat codes and bots to get advanced features and skills, regardless of the progress in the game. Developers have been working on banning accounts found using illegal methods to play the games. In one such instance, Tencent joined hands with the Chinese police to dismantle what is the world’s biggest video game cheating operation. The police caught hold of a gang that sold cheat codes to players. The cheat codes were for games like Overwatch and Call of Duty Mobile. The gang earned over $76 million through its illegal operation. Let’s take a look at more details on the Tencent-Chinese Police joint operation.
Tencent partnered with the Chinese Police to catch hold of a gang that sold cheats. The gang charged players for these cheat codes for games like Overwatch and Call of Duty Mobile. A BBC report states that the gang made over $76 million while selling these codes in the form of subscriptions.
The website through which these cheat codes were sold was called “Chicken Drumstick”. It had a website selling to “hundreds of countries and regions”, the report added. The organisation charged users around $10 a day, and up to $200 a month for Call of Duty and Overwatch cheat codes. The Kunshan Police found and destroyed 17 cheats and arrested 10 people involved.
Police also seized assets worth $ 46 million, including several luxury cars. The move is said to be the world’s biggest video game cheating case for the large sums of money and games involved. It is yet another move to curb cheating in video games. Considering the growing popularity of eSports tournaments that have millions of dollars at stake, it is essential to get hold of such miscreants.
The report also cites a 2019 survey that revealed around a third of gamers admitted to using cheat codes. They used these codes to improve their chance of winning the battle online. PUBG has banned millions of accounts that were found using bots to have an added advantage over other players.

Battlefield 6 is one of the highly speculated game titles which is tipped to be launched in 2021, but there is no specific date available so far. We have already witnessed numerous leaks and rumours about the game title and new leaks are not ready to stop popping up on the internet. In the latest development, a new rumour has surfaced on Reddit claiming a series of features that are going to arrive with the game. Let’s have a closer look at the modes and features that are going to include in the upcoming Battlefield 6 game.
According to the post that appeared on Reddit, Battlefield 6 is confirmed to arrive with Battle Royale in which almost hundreds of players were para dropped on a map to battle against each other. The game is tipped to support up to 128 players in different game modes. However, do note that the “game modes that support this don’t seem to be the primary target.”
As per the report, Battlefield 6 is confirmed to arrive with maps like Wake Island, Metro, and Locker. “Destruction will behave like the Bad Company series, focused on the smaller scale (think digging holes with grenade launchers). However, there will be large-scale destruction events such as taking down buildings, although I think they are moving away from “levolution” and making them less scripted,” reads the Reddit report.
INSIDER LEAK from Battlefield6
The Reddit post confirmed that the game is going to be a hub for its previous Battlefield titles. Players will be able to boot up servers playing exclusively 1942 and even have the option to play with settings. One team can access the weapons and vehicles from 1942 and the other team can avail the Battlefield 3 weapons and vehicles.
“Additionally, these settings include core gameplay mechanics, such as not being able to sprint with 1942 settings and not being able to go prone with Bad Company settings. I’m not sure how this affects balancing issues,” reads the report.
Besides, the report suggests that the hub aspect is just one feature of the upcoming Battlefield 6. Notably, the game developers are yet to reveal anything officially and even the name of the game title isn’t confirmed. However, during an earnings call back in November 2020, EA CEO Andrew Wilson said that the upcoming Battlefield game is going to arrive in “Holiday 2021.” Let’s see when the game is finally going to hit the market.
In a recent earning call Wilson said, “We will reveal the game in the spring and deliver the defining Battlefield experience for our players in the 2021 holiday season.”

OPPO is reportedly working on launching its OPPO Reno6 series of smartphones soon. Not too long ago, rumors surrounding the specifications and features of the alleged OPPO Reno6 Pro smartphones started floating on the internet. Today, the alleged OPPO Reno6 smartphone has been listed on the Chinese 3C certification website, which gives us a working clue as to what charging speed the device could potentially possess. Take a look at the 3C certification listing for the alleged OPPO Reno6 smartphone and find out what it has in store for us.
As seen in the 3C certification image, the alleged OPPO Reno6 smartphone (with the model number OPPO PEPM00) has recently been certified. As per 3C, the OPPO Reno6 smartphone will feature a whopping 65W fast charging support. Other than the fast charging details (and of course the fact that it will be a 5G smartphone), the 3C certification fails to tell us anything else about the OPPO Reno6.
That being said, another set of leaks floating across the internet claims that the OPPO Reno6 will be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 1200 processor (the image shows the processor build as MT6893 and Digital Chat Station claims the processor to be Dimensity 1200), which will be paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The device is tipped to boot Android 11-based ColorOS 11.1 out of the box. Furthermore, the OPPO Reno6 is said to feature a 90Hz refresh rate display.
Coming to the Pro variant of the lineup, the OPPO Reno6 Pro device is rumored to feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor, which will be clubbed with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The device could very well feature a left-aligned single punch-hole cutout for the selfie snapper (given the gap in the top left corner of the notification tray found on the leaked interface image).
For now, this is pretty much all the information that we have been able to gather surrounding the OPPO Reno6 and the OPPO Reno6 Pro smartphones, but we are sure to receive more intel on the same in the coming days as the launch date approaches. Whenever we do, we will keep you posted on the same.
