PUBG Mobile, one of the most played game titles in India was banned by the Indian government back in September 2020 seeking security reasons. According to the government, the game publisher Tencent Games was sharing data with the Chinese government. Ever since the ban, the PUBG Corps have been trying hard to revoke the ban. The developers have also confirmed that the Indian version of the game will be different from the global version and it will be entirely on Indian servers.
PUBG Mobile India Relaunch
The PUBG Mobile ban in India was disappointing for Indian fans and PUBG Mobile streamers in the country. But the announcement about the PUBG Mobile India version gives a ray of hope to the Indian gaming community. Now in the latest development, popular PUBG Mobile content creator GodNixon, aka Luv Sharma has confirmed that the government has approved the relaunch of the game title in the country.
GodNixon in his latest video with the title “PUBG Mobile India Update! Government Approved ” stated that the sources confirmed that the government has given a green signal to PUBG Mobile. But the exact release date is yet to be confirmed by the sources. Popular content creators like Ghatak have already started posting stories and dropping hints about the PUBG Mobile comeback in India.
PUBG Mobile content creator Ghatak has shared a tweet confirming the news, “I wasn’t going to reveal this, but the audience’s support couldn’t stop me from making revelations. The following two months will be very good for PUBG lovers, and numerous exciting updates are coming soon for TSM lovers. Please don’t ask for a date.”
Do note that the PUBG Corps are yet to make any official announcement about the PUBG Mobile India relaunch. So we recommend not to get excited about the relaunch of the game title and take this piece of information with a pinch of salt.
“I cannot tell the timing or anything because we don’t know yet. But what I can tell you is, we care about the Indian market greatly, and also, that’s how I get to know you and get to know friends in the Indian gaming industry now. So definitely, we will work hard to make it happen,” Sean Hyunil Sohn, Head of Corporate Development at Krafton, had told Akshat Rathee, MD and co-founder, NODWIN Gaming.
Yet another false alarm?
We’ve had multiple false alarms like this in the past few months, and this could also be one. The government, as reported earlier, does not need to give permission for an app or game to launch in India, but since this involves geopolitical events, the game may need an informal nod for a relaunch.
