iQOO 8 to Feature 10-bit AMOLED Display, 120Hz Variable Refresh Rate and More

iQOO is gearing up for the launch of its flagship smartphone series. The company will unveil the iQOO 8 series soon in China. The flagship Android phone from the Vivo sub-brand will debut on August 2. Ahead of the launch, the company has started teasing some key details of its top-tier phone. The upcoming iQOO series phone will feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ SoC under the hood. iQOO has also teased some key details about the device’s display. iQOO 8 display specs teased

iQOO 8 series debuts in China on August 2. Ahead of the launch, the Vivo sub-brand has revealed some display specs of its flagship phone. The company confirmed on Weibo that the 8 series will feature a 2K E5 display. It will have an AMOLED 10-bit screen. The display will also feature LTPO (Low-Temperature Polycrystalline Oxide) tech for a variable refresh rate support that switches between 1Hz and 120Hz depending on the on-screen content. iQOO is yet to confirm the display size of the device.

The flagship series is confirmed to feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ SoC under the hood. The ‘Plus’ Qualcomm chip gets two major performance improvements. The SoC’s prime core CPU gets boosted to 2.995GHz, compared to 2.84GHz on the SD888 SoC. It also gets 20 per cent improved AI performance over the SD888 SoC. The performance unit will include 12GB of RAM and also feature 4GB of extended RAM support. 

It was previously rumoured to offer 160W fast charging support. However, recent leaks suggest that the device will continue to cap fast charging at 120W. It is likely to charge the 4000 mAh battery within 15 minutes. The phone will run Android 11-based Vivo’s OriginOS out of the box. It will come with 256GB of internal storage.
