POCO X3 GT Won’t Come to India to Avoid Confusion in India Portfolio: Anuj Sharma

Poco launched the X3 GT in select international markets on July 28. The new Poco phone comes with a MediaTek Dimensity 1100 SoC under the hood. It also features a 6.6-inch 120Hz IPS LCD and a beefy 5000 mAh battery. The device is essentially a rebranded Redmi Note 10 Pro 5G that was launched earlier this year in China. Poco was expected to launch the device in India as well. However, it looks like Poco phones will be disappointed after reading the company’s official statement. Poco India Country Director Anuj Sharma has shared some details about the Poco X3 GT launch in India. Sharma said that Poco does not have any plans to launch the device in India. Let’s take a look at more details on why the Poco X3 GT will not launch in India, according to the company officials.

No Poco X3 GT India launch

Poco India has confirmed that it will not launch the X3 GT in India. The smartphone was unveiled on July 28 in select international markets. Poco India’s top chief, Anuj Sharma, said that the company wants to offer a “lean-mean portfolio and focus on Everything you need, Nothing you don’t.” The company recently launched its premium Poco F3 GT in India that is available under Rs 30,000. It features a Dimensity 1200 SoC under the hood. Those looking for a performance-focused Poco phone under Rs 20,000 can get their hands on the Poco X3 Pro, which gets a Snapdragon 860 SoC.

Poco says it has “big plans” for the future but the X3 GT is not a part of it. The company says it does not want its customers to have any confusion while making a purchase decision. Therefore, it wants to maintain a lean portfolio in India.

The X3 GT was launched in Malaysia at a starting price of RM 1199, which is roughly Rs 21,100. The device would have launched in India for around the same price tag, if not higher. That being said, the Indian smartphone market is crowded with excellent value-for-money options in the sub-Rs 25,000 segment. We have the likes of iQOO Z3, Mi 11 Lite, Realme X7, OnePlus Nord CE 5G, etc.

What is your take on the company not bringing the X3 GT to India? Do you think it is a wise decision? Do let us know in the comments below.
