Telecom giant Reliance Jio has announced a new Emergency Data Loan facility for its users. Under the service, users can claim up to 5GB of high-speed 4G data. Jio prepared users can borrow five such packs – each having 1GB of data. The service is useful for those who run out of mobile data and are unable to recharge. Reliance Jio said that users can borrow the emergency data pack and pay at a later date. Previously, companies like Vodafone-Idea have offered an emergency credit pack of Rs 10 that gave users roughly Rs 7-worth of talk time. Jio has launched its new Emergency Data Service. Under the service, prepaid users can claim up to 5GB of data. The service is useful for prepaid users are unable to recharge their account. Jio said that users can borrow five such packs, with each pack having 1GB of mobile data. Each 1GB data pack is valued at Rs 11. The validity of this plan is valid till the base plan is active. This means that you need to have an active base Jio plan to use the emergency data loan service.
To avail the Jio emergency data loan service,
- Go to the MyJio app and tap on the hamburger menu from the top-left corner.
- Next, Select Emergency Data Loan under Mobile Services.
- Click ‘Proceed’ on the emergency data loan banner.
- Select the ‘Get emergency data’ option.
- Click ‘Activate now’ to get the emergency loan benefit. After this, the emergency data loan is activated.
The company has not mentioned by when users need to pay back for the emergency data loan service. We will share more details on the same upon official confirmation.
