Huawei recently launched its Mate 20 series in China and the smartphones went on sale the same day. The latest flagship series from the Chinese smartphone maker includes the Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro, Mate 20 X, and Mate 20 RS Porche Design. In alignment with the company’s expectation, the smartphones are received extremely well. Huawei has announced that 100 million worth of the Mate 20 series smartphones were sold in just eight seconds.
Traffic on the Huawei Mall Website Reached Seven Million in 10 Seconds
During the sale, Huawei registered a traffic of over seven million users in 10 seconds on the Huawei Mall Website. The Chinese smartphone maker claimed Huawei Cloud made the use of its second-level elastic scalability to expand resources during the peak time.
Additionally, Huawei also recommended smartphone accessories to the customers with the help of Huawei EI Smart Recommendation service. It uses artificial intelligence and big data technology to come up with the most relevant recommendations. This method helped Huawei increase the conversion rate on its platform. Besides Huawei Mall, the Mate 20 series handsets were also available on other e-commerce platforms and the 100 million figure is a result of all the purchases combined. According to Suning Tesco, the data reveals that the majority buyers of the Mate 20 series were males, contributing a 78.8 percent, while the females accounted for 21.2 percent. The data further reveals the buyers aged 36-45 years old contributed a 23.14 percent, while 46.7 percent of the buyers were aged between 26-35 years.
Huawei Mate 20 Series Pricing Details
Starting from the most expensive handset in the series, the Mate 20 RS Porsche Design has been priced at 12,999 Yuan (approx. INR 1,36,898). The special edition has not gone on sale yet, it will available starting November 10. The 64GB variant of the Mate 20 is priced at 3,999 Yuan (approx. INR 42,115), while the 128GB storage variant sells for 4,499 Yuan (approx. INR 47,380). Both the storage variant feature 6GB RAM.
The 6GB RAM paired with 128GB storage variant of the Mate 20 Pro is priced at 5,399 Yuan (approx. INR 56,859). The device sports a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. The other two variants of the Mate 20 Pro feature 8GB of RAM and an in-display fingerprint scanner. The one with 128GB storage version is priced at 5,999 Yuan (approx. INR 63,178), while the other one with 256GB onboard storage is priced at 6,799 Yuan (approx. INR 71,603).
All the Mate 20 Pro and Mate 20 storage variants are available in multiple color options: Emerald Green, Pink Gold, Sapphire Blue, Aurora, and Bright Black. Moving on to the Mate 20 X, the 6GB RAM with 128GB storage version is priced at 4,999 Yuan (approx. INR 52,646), while the one with 256GB internal memory and the same RAM sells for 5,999 Yuan (approx. INR 63,178). The Mate 20 X Pro is available in the Phantom Silver and Sapphire Blue colors.
Huawei is slowly opening up to the global markets with its high-end devices. However, of all the handsets in the Mate 20 series, only the Mate 20 Pro will be arriving in India. The device will be launched as an Amazon exclusive. The Mate 20 Pro has a 6.39-inch AMOLED screen with 1440 x 3120 pixels resolution and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. The smartphone is powered by a HiSilicon Kirin 980 chipset and is fuelled by a powerful 4200 mAh battery. In the imaging department, the smartphone gets a triple-rear camera setup comprising a 40MP f/1.8 sensor, a 20MP f/2.2 sensor, and an 8MP f/2.4 sensor. On the front, there is a 24 MP f/2.0 unit for selfies and video calling.
