Uber May Launch Customer Loyalty Program with an Option to Lock in Lower Prices Between Two Places

Last month, we found some strings during an APK teardown of the Uber app, hinting at a rewards program for riders. We have managed to find out some more details regarding the rewards program thanks to a teardown of the latest 4.235.10001 version of the Uber app.

Uber Rider Loyalty Program Will Allow Locking in Lower Prices

The new strings discovered in the latest version of the Uber app reveal riders eligible for the loyalty program will be able to avail locked lower prices on hailing UberX rides between two places. Once you unlock the loyalty price reward, you will be asked to choose two places that you ride between the most. After you are done with the setup, you will be able to lock in lower UberX prices whenever you go either way. As we mentioned in our previous report, the rewards program for riders will be divided into three tiers – Silver, Gold, and Diamond. Uber riders will be able to unlock additional benefits as they move up to a higher tier. One of the benefits, as revealed by the strings below, will be locking in lower UberX prices between two places. The rest of the benefits, however, remain a mystery currently.

Sadly, however, there is still no word on when the rider reward program will be officially launched by Uber. Since the latest version of the rider app includes some new strings hinting at a loyalty program for riders, there is a good chance that Uber may decide to launch the program by the end of the year. That said, we should keep in mind that Uber has not officially confirmed a rewards program for riders.  The ride-hailing company did introduce Ridesmart Rewards in India a few weeks back, but the program requires riders to pay a nominal amount to pick a package. For now, these rewards are only available to select riders. Ridesmart Rewards include deals on Uber rides, discount and cashback offers on Paytm, as well as surprise discounts on Uber Eats orders. Currently, riders can purchase Ridesmart Rewards packages in the Uber app only using their Paytm wallet.
