Vivo NEX, Xiaomi Mi TV 4A, 4C Pro Get Cheaper in India by Up to Rs. 5,000; Check Latest Prices

It is indeed a ‘Happy New Year’ for Mi fans, as the Chinese brand Xiaomi has decided to make its TVs more affordable for Indian consumers in 2019. While the price drop benefits those who are planning to buy 32-inch and 49-inch TVs from the Mi TV lineup, there is another major good news for smartphone buyers. Vivo has given its flagship smartphone, the NEX a first-ever price cut, and it is huge. The device gets a permanent price drop of INR 5,000, which leaves us inclined to make the obvious guess that Vivo is planning to launch its NEX Dual Display in India rather shortly. Read on for the latest prices of all these devices.

Vivo NEX Price Cut To INR 39,990

With its MRP set at INR 47,990, the Vivo NEX was launched last year in July at a selling price of INR 44,990. This being a flagship device, it was no surprise that it was not given any price cut in all these months. Now though, without any explanation, Vivo has given the NEX a permanent price cut of INR 5,000, a rare thing in its magnitude.

Price drops usually benefit buyers to the tune of INR 500, INR 1,000 or INR 2,000. With this kind of a massive cut, we can only guess that the ground is being readied for the Indian market launch of the new NEX Dual Display, Vivo’s new flagship device and the world’s first dual-display handset.

However, there is no official word regarding this, so let us not get too excited yet. For now, the good news is that Vivo NEX is selling for INR 39,990, exclusively (as always) on Amazon.

Mi TVs Price Cut

Xiaomi has sent out a media note regarding price cuts on three of its TVs, crediting two different factors for the same. Firstly, the 32-inch TVs (Mi LED Smart TV 4A and Mi TV 4C Pro) were given price drops of INR 1,500 and INR 2,000, respectively, because the central government of India has reduced GST on 32-inch TVs from 28 percent to 18 percent.

Xiaomi said that in keeping with its ideology of passing on to buyers any profit of more than 5 percent on hardware, the 32-inch TVs will cost so much less. The new MRP, applicable at all platforms where the television sets are sold, is INR 14,499 for Mi LED Smart TV 4A (32), and INR 14,999 for Mi LED TV 4C Pro (32). However, the TVs cost even less on Mi Home, the e-store for Xiaomi products. There, the new pricing is INR 12,499 for Mi LED Smart TV 4A (32), and INR 13,999 for Mi LED TV 4C Pro (32).

As for the 49-inch model, the Mi LED TV 4A Pro, Xiaomi has given it a price cut of INR 1,000, crediting the strengthening of the Indian rupee against the US Dollar for it. The new price of the Mi LED TV 4A Pro (49) is INR 30,999. Amazon and Flipkart have started reflecting the new prices for the Mi TVs, and are even selling the units at Mi Home pricing, although that may or may not be permanent.
