Samsung Galaxy S21 Snapdragon 875 SoC Variant Beats Exynos Variant in Geekbench, New Leak Suggests

Samsung Galaxy S21 series is all set to launch next year. The upcoming series is reported to launch at the Galaxy Unpacked 2021 event in January. The company is reportedly working on three smartphones in the series namely Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21. As usual, the company might introduce two variants of the Galaxy S21: one with Qualcomm and one with Exynos chipset. Now, a new Benchmark listing has appeared for the Galaxy S21, which reveals that it will be powered by Snapdragon 875 SoC. Furthermore, the Snapdragon variant might be more powerful than the Exynos option. Here’s what you need to know about the latest Samsung Galaxy S21 Geekbench listing.

Samsung Galaxy S21 Snapdragon 875 SoC Variant spotted on Geekbench

The Galaxy S21 carrying model number SM-G996U is available on the Geekbench website, revealing some key information. The listing reveals that the smartphone may come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 SoC.

The chipset from Qualcomm is yet to be launched officially. As per various leaks, the upcoming chipset may come with tri-cluster CPU with single X1 high-performance core, three Cortex-A78 cores, and four Cortex-A55 cores. Moving on, the Galaxy S21 listing reveals that the phone will feature 8GB of RAM and will run on Android 11 operating system. The phone has scored 1120 points in the single-core test and 3319 points in the multi-core test.

That said, it seems that the Snapdragon 875 variant performs better than the Exynos counterpart. The Exynos variant of the upcoming smartphone made its appearance on Geekbench earlier revealing some key information on its performance. The chipset scored 1,038 in the single-core test and 3,060 points in the multi-core test. This shows that the Snapdragon variant will once again deliver superior performance compared to Samsung’s in-house chipset. However, it is important to note that these are the early benchmarks and not final products. It will be interesting to see whether Samsung will be able to bridge this gap in performance.
