Vivo is tipped to launch a new budget smartphone under the Y-series in India next month. According to tipster Mukul Sharma, popularly known as Stufflistings, the company will launch the Vivo Y1s in India in December. The tipster also claims that the smartphone will be priced around Rs 8,000 in India. Vivo will be partnering with Reliance Jio wherein the potential buyer will get an option to lock-in their Y1s with the Jio network to enjoy some special benefits. Vivo Y1s price in India, launch timeline tipped
Vivo Y1s will be priced under Rs 10,000 in India. The smartphone will be launched in India at around Rs 8,000 in December 2020. The company is yet to make an official confirmation on the launch of the budget smartphone. MySmartPrice, earlier, had exclusively revealed that the Vivo Y1s will launch soon in India.
Sharma has also leaked the carrier offers and benefits that Jio users will get on the purchase of Vivo Y1s. These benefits will be 10 percent of the MOP maximum up to Rs 799. Users will get shopping benefits worth Rs 4,550 on a recharge of Rs 249 or above. They can also avail a 90-day Shemaroo subscription at Rs 99. The company is also offering a one-time screen replacement by One Assist at Rs 149. This is available for 6 months from the purchase date. Other benefits include a three months Lenskart Gold subscription worth Rs 650, Up to Rs 500 (10 percent) off on purchase of Rs 999 on Myntra, Rs 150 off on a minimum spend of Rs 799 on Fern and Petals, etc.
Users can choose to opt-out of the network lock-in by paying a nominal charge. If the user decides to opt-out within six months of the purchase, they will have to pay Rs 974, excluding GST. For opting out between 7-12 months, users will need to pay Rs 754. The charges for opting out of the lock-in between 13-18 months, 19-24 months, and 25-30 months are Rs 618, Rs 398, and Rs 220, respectively. There are no charges for opting out after 30 months from the date of purchase.
Vivo Y1s specifications
Vivo Y1s features a 6.22-inch Halo Full View display with an HD+ resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels. The screen has a pixel density of 271 PPI and comes with a layer of NEG T2X-1 glass for added protection.
For selfies, there will be a 5MP front camera with an aperture of f/2.2 housed inside the waterdrop notch. At the back, there is will a single 13MP rear camera with an aperture of f/1.8.
Under the hood, the smartphone will draw its power from a 12nm octa-core MediaTek Helio P35 processor. The chip will be paired with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory. Storage can be further expanded via a dedicated microSD card slot up to 256GB. The device also supports data transfer via OTG.
The smartphone will pack a 4,030 mAh battery and also come with reverse wired charging support. It will run on Android 10-based Funtouch OS 10.5 out of the box.
