Google Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro Rumoured to Include Gimbal-like Steady Camera and Improved Video Performance

Google is rumored to launch the Pixel 6 series later this year. The Pixel 6 series is said to consist of two models – Pixel 6, and Pixel 6 Pro. The Google Pixel 6 series devices are said to feature a 50MP sensor, along with an 8MP periscope lens. Now, a new report has emerged on the web claiming that the upcoming Pixel 6 series will have a Gimbal-like steady camera, and will also offer improved video performance. In past, some Android OEMs such as Vivo and LG have accommodated a gimbal feature on some of their smartphones, such as Vivo X50, and Lg Wing.

The leakster also claims that the Pixel 6 series will use a bigger Samsung sensor. Though, it is unclear if it will be primary camera sensor on the Pixel 6 series device. Also, the Pixel 6 series will get Google made neural processing unit (otherwise known as NPU), and image signal processor (also known as ISP). All this is said to bring big improvements to the Pixel 6 series in terms of video performance compared to its predecessor – Pixel 5.

The Pixel 6 series is said to sport Google’s in-house Whitechapel SoC. It is being developed in partnership with Samsung, and is built on a 5nm fabrication process if the reports are to be believed. Some rumors suggest that the Whitechapel SoC will be as good as Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 870. Google is also said to be relying on Machine Learning algorithms to match the performance with other mobile chips.

A couple of weeks ago, Pixel 6 series renders surfaced on the web revealing the complete design of the smartphone. The renders of the device also confirmed that the upcoming Pixel 6 series will get a dual-rear camera setup. The Pixel 6 Pro is said to sport a 6.67-inch QHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate, and a punch-hole notch. The regular Pixel will have a Full HD+ 120Hz display. The device will also pack a 5000 mAh battery.
