Intel Expands 11th Gen Core i7 and i5 With Two New Chips For Thin and Light Laptops, Announces 5G Modem

Intel has expanded its 11th-gen U-series processor lineup with the launch of Core i7 and i5 chips. The new processors will feature in thin and lightweight laptops later this year. They are based on the company’s Evo platforms and come with integrated Iris Xe graphics. The new processors also come with WiFi 6 support and up to 25 per cent performance improvements. The company also claims that its new processors can deliver up to 8x faster transcoding and up to double the video editing speed. Manufacturers like Acer, ASUS, MSI and Lenovo are expected to launch new laptops with i5 and i7 processors later this year. Intel 11th Gen Core i7 and i5 chips announced

Intel has announced two new i7, i5 chips for laptops under its 11th Gen U-series. Manufacturers are expected to launch laptops with the new chips later this year.

The company claims that the new i7, i5 chips offer up to 25 per cent of performance improvements. They are based on the Evo platform. The new 11th generation U-series chips come with support for WiFi 6. Intel claims that the Core i7-1195G7 can clock max at 5GHz with a base clock speed of 2.9GHz. It also supports up to 3200GHz of memory. The Core i5-1155G7, on the other hand, has a base clock speed of 2.5GHz (max turbo boost 4.5GHz on 1-2 cores, 4.3GHz on all cores) while supporting 3200GHz memory. The new chips also feature integrated Iris Xe graphics.

More than 60 laptops are expected to launch later this year with the new processors. Manufacturers like ASUS, Acer, ASUS, MSI and Lenovo are likely to launch new 11th-gen U-series i5 and i7-powered laptops later this year.

Intel also announced a new 5G modem for laptops. Intel’s new 5G Solution 5000 has received the worldwide 5G carrier certification according to Gizmodo. The company expects the new modem to feature in over 30 machines by 2022. It further said that Acer, ASUS, and HP will be among the first manufacturers to offer it in their laptops.
