The Moto G Stylus debuted in 2020 as part of Motorola’s updated mid-range portfolio. Following the success of the Moto G Stylus, the firm decided to raise the stakes with a second-generation model in 2021.
Motorola appears to be preparing for a third refresh with the Moto G Stylus (2022) and now a detailed specs sheet of the phone has appeared online. Let us take a look at the Moto G Stylus (2022), its specifications and what we could expect from the device.
Moto G Stylus (2022) to Only Get One Major Android Update, to Android 12
The Moto G Stylus (2022), codenamed Milan, will feature a 6.78-inch IPS LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a screen resolution of 1080×2460 pixels. Under the hood, the phone will be powered by the MediaTek Helio G85 SoC, paired with the Mali-G52 GPU. The phone will be available with 4 or 6GB of RAM bundled with 128 GB of expandable storage.
The Moto G Stylus (2022) will get a triple rear camera module comprising of a 50-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL S5KJN1 primary, a secondary 8-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL S5K4H7 ultra-wide, and a third 2-megapixel GalaxyCore GC02M1 depth sensor. On the front, you might see a single 16-megapixel OV16A1Q shooter for selfies and video calls.
The phone will be equipped with a stylus (which can be docked inside the device similar to the Samsung Galaxy Note series) and a 5,000 mAh battery that enables 10W charging. A fingerprint sensor incorporated in the power button, a single bottom-firing speaker, and a 3.5mm headphone jack are also included. Surprisingly, the phone does not appear to feature NFC or dual-SIM.
The phone will come pre-installed with Android 11 and may only receive one major upgrade to Android 12 with bi-monthly security patches for the following two years. The Moto G Stylus (2022) may be released in North America and Europe, although this is still to be confirmed.
