iPhone 14 series is currently on sale in India and other markets. The iPhone 14, 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max are currently available for purchase globally. Apple’s new iPhone 14 Plus will go on sale in October. The iPhone 14 price in India is the same as last year’s model. Priced at Rs 79,900, the base iPhone model offers a few incremental upgrades in the camera and battery department. Meanwhile, the iPhone 14 Pro models, which got the most number of upgrades this year, are even more expensive than their respective outgoing models.
Despite the price hike in various markets, Apple’s Pro models are reportedly receiving a great response from buyers across the world. Following the demand, Apple is said to have asked suppliers to increase the production of the Pro models over the non-Pro iPhones.
Apple Wants to Increase iPhone 14 Pro Production
Apple has reportedly asked its suppliers to switch the production lines of the iPhone 14 to the iPhone 14 Pro models to improve sales in Q4 2022. The piece of information comes from renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who revealed that Apple is asking Foxconn to do so to increase the average selling price (ASP) of the iPhone. With the expected increase in shipments and sales, the ASP of the iPhone is said to increase by about 10 per cent.
But Why is the iPhone 14 Pro Series Seeing Higher Demand?
Apple launched four iPhone models at the Far Out event. The standard 14 got upgrades in the camera and battery department, while other specs remained the same as the iPhone 13 series. Apple did improve the GPU performance in the vanilla models by packing the 5-core GPU variant of the A15 Bionic from the iPhone 13 Pro models. The iPhone 14 continues to sport a 6.1-inch OLED display with a wide notch and a 60Hz refresh rate.

There is also the 14 Plus, which is essentially a 6.7-inch iPhone 14 with a bigger battery. It is priced at Rs 89,900 and is yet to go on sale in India and other markets.
Meanwhile, the Pro models got a new 48MP triple-camera setup, a powerful A16 Bionic chipset and a new display design. Dynamic Island, one of the most talked-about features of this year’s lineup, is also exclusive to the Pro models. While the price of the Pro models is the same as last year, the Indian variants received a massive hike.
Apple launched the iPhone 14 Pro in India at a starting price of Rs 1,29,900. In comparison, the 13 Pro was launched for Rs 1,19,900. The 14 Pro Max was launched for Rs 1,39,900, which is Rs 10,000 higher than the launch price of the 13 Pro Max.
