Twitter Blue India Availability Confirmed by Elon Musk as Company Rolls Out New Update

Twitter Blue, the company’s subscription service which answers the question “how to get a blue tick on Twitter?” is now rolling out. The Elon Musk-owned social media website has rolled out a new update for users, giving them access to the new subscription service. While the update is being rolled out worldwide, only select countries will have access to Twitter Blue as part of the first phase of the rollout. Unfortunately, India is not a part of the first phase of Twitter Blue’s rollout timeline. However, Elon Musk has confirmed the possible timeline of Twitter Blue India availability.

When a user asked Musk about the rollout timeline of Twitter Blue for the Indian market, Musk responded stating that the subscription service should go live in India in less than a month’s time. Musk, in his tweet, did not confirm the exact date of the rollout. However, looking at how Twitter has rolled out its new service following Musk’s takeover, the wait should not be a long one.

Twitter Blue India Rollout Confirmed

Twitter Blue will be available for users in India, the company’s top-chief Elon Musk confirmed. The richest billionaire in the world confirmed that the service will be live in India in less than a month. Musk’s confirmation comes hours after Twitter released a new update, which provides support for the subscription service. The subscription fee will differ based on the region of its availability. Twitter Blue India price is currently unknown. However, we can expect the local team to provide more details as we get closer to the launch timeline.

The service is currently available only in the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the UK. Users in these countries can subscribe to Twitter Blue for a monthly fee of $8 (roughly Rs 650) and get access to many premium features, including the blue checkmark, aka the verified blue tick. Musk stated that the blue checkmark for a fee would provide more power to the people. In fact, the update log specifically mentions that those who subscribe to Twitter Blue “will get a blue checkmark, just like the celebrities, companies and politicians you already follow.”

For users concerned about spam accounts or bots impersonating credible accounts and getting a Blue tick to look verified on the platform, Musk had said that public figures will have a secondary tag below their name.

The subscription fee is not just for the blue tick on Twitter as it will also give users priority in replies, searches and mentions. In addition to this, subscribers will be able to post longer videos and audio files. Twitter will also show half the ads and make them twice as relevant.

While the update log does not mention this, Musk had previously stated that subscribers will also get access to paid articles by publications that work with Twitter. The feature could be available in the coming weeks as Twitter rolls out the subscription service in more regions.

It is worth noting that the Blue service is currently available only on the iOS app in the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the UK. The Android app should provide support in the coming days.
