Samsung might not be done with the Galaxy S22 series. The company has launched three premium smartphones in the lineup, which include the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 Plus and Galaxy S22 Ultra. Samsung is gearing up to launch the Galaxy S23 series soon. The company will reportedly launch the Galaxy S23 series launch event on February 1 in the US and other markets. Alongside the Galaxy S23 series, we might see the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S22 FE.

There were rumours of Samsung cancelling the Fan Edition series. The company did not confirm any details about the same officially. However, there have not been any rumours about the existence of the Samsung Galaxy S22 FE so far — until now. A new report suggests that the Samsung Galaxy S22 FE will launch in February.

The leak comes from tipster RGcloudS, who revealed that the Galaxy FE smartphone will launch in the US on February 1 2023. The company might host an Unpacked – Part 2 event for the device.

The tipster also revealed that the device will replace the Galaxy A74 5G, which has reportedly been cancelled. A recent report claimed that Samsung is killing its Galaxy A7x series and the Galaxy A54 5G will headline the Galaxy A-series lineup in 2023.

The Galaxy A7x series was very close to the FE variant of the Galaxy S-series in terms of price in various markets. Samsung could well offer the FE variant as a mix of flagship experience at a comparatively lower price compared to the Galaxy S22 series.

With the Galaxy S22 FE, the tipster claims that the company will introduce a new processor and a camera sensor. Reports of Samsung cancelling the Exynos 2300 SoC surfaced earlier this year. The company plans to use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC for the Galaxy S23 series lineup, which led to rumours of the company killing the in-house Exynos 2300 SoC.

RGcloudS claimed that the SoC does exist and is based on a 4nm process. The exact performance details are unknown. The same SoC is said to be used in the Galaxy Tab S8 FE, which would be Samsung’s premium tablet offering.

The tipster also revealed the Galaxy S22 FE will house a Samsung 108MP HM6 sensor. This should be quite an upgrade over the 12MP sensor used in the S21 FE.

Separately, a leak by a leaker revealed that the Galaxy S22 FE and Galaxy Buds 2 could be coming soon. Tipster Dohyun Kim commented and further revealed that the Galaxy S23 FE does not exist.

In addition to the above details, RGcloudS further revealed that the Galaxy Tab S9 series will launch at the Unpacked event in Q3 2023. He also revealed that the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Plus, which will be launched in 2024, could feature the Samsung HM5 sensor, which will be an improved version of the 200MP HP3 sensor.

There is no official word from the company regarding the launch of the S22 FE. If the phone does exist, we should hear some details about the same from the rumour mill. What are your thoughts about the Galaxy S22 FE? Let us know in the comments below.
