Redmi A2 and A2 Plus Global Variants Spotted on NBTC and TUV Certifications, Launch Might Happen Soon

Xiaomi, a few months ago, launched the Redmi A1 and Redmi A1+ smartphones under the Redmi A-series. The company now appears to be gearing up to launch the next iteration of handsets under the A-series – the Redmi A2 and the Redmi A2+. We have spotted the Redmi A2 with the model number 23028RN4DG on the NBTC certification website. Alongside, the Redmi A2+ with the model number 23028RNCAG has also made an appearance on the NBTC certification website.

The Redmi A2 and the Redmi A2+ have also cleared TUV certification. Alongside this, the Redmi A2+ has also cleared EEC certification. Let us take a closer look at the details.

The appearance of the Redmi A2 and the Redmi A2+ on multiple certification websites hints towards an imminent launch. Also, the upcoming Redmi A2 series smartphones have acquired Bureau of Indian Standard certification, so the India launch is also expected to happen.

Previously the design renders and specifications of the Redmi A2 surfaced on the web. Going by the leak, the Redmi A2 will be identical to the Redmi A1 but it will be powered by a MediaTek Helio G36 processor. Also, the Redmi A2+ is expected to be the same as the Redmi A2 except for the addition of a fingerprint scanner.

As per the leak, the Redmi A2 will feature a 6.52-inch IPS LCD with an HD+ resolution. The device will be equipped with a dual-rear camera setup that might include an 8MP primary shooter and a 2MP depth sensor. It is tipped to offer a 5MP snapper for video calls and selfies. The smartphone might come equipped with a 5000mAh battery unit and a microUSB charging port.
