BSNL 98 Data Tsunami Pack vs Jio 98 vs Airtel 99: Prepaid Recharge Plans Compared For Offers, Benefits

Airtel, BSNL. Jio

All the telcos in the Indian market are into cut throat competition to offer the best deals when it comes to data and calls to their customers to retain the old and lure the new ones. Joining in Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel, state-owned BSNL is also leaving no stone unturned to offer the best tariff plans to its subscribers at competitive rates and all the offers on the table are below Rs.100.

BSNL Rs.98 ‘Data Tsunami’ Pack

For only Rs.98, the latest plan from BSNL offers its customer 1.5 GB of data every day for 26 days. This newly launched plan is aptly named by BSNL as the ‘Data Tsunami’ pack.

According to this plan, the subscriber will get 39 GB of data for only Rs.98 which roughly translates to somewhere Rs.2.5 per GB, which is reasonable in comparison with Jio and Airtel. The drawback of the STV 98 plan is that there are no calling or SMS benefits attached to it. Also, the main stumbling block is that BSNL still provides its subscribers with 3G network.

The new plan from BSNL is definitely more cost effective than Jio and Airtel per GB. But, both the service providers offer 4G network, unlimited calling, and 100 SMS per day.

The new data plan is available pan India under new STV 98 plan and can be availed by calling the BSNL customer care or logging onto their website.

BSNL Launches Rs.499 Postpaid Plan With Unlimited Voice Calling, 45GB Monthly Data Benefits

Jio Rs. 98 Plan

At present, Reliance Jio has three under Rs.100 plans for its subscribers; Rs.19, Rs.52, and Rs.98. In comparison to BSNL’s Rs.98 Data Tsunami pack, Jio’s Rs.98 plan gives its subscriber 2GB of data for 28 days. Unlimited calls and 300 SMS benefits for the same time period along with free access to Jio apps.

The Jio Rs.98 pack loses to BSNL’s Rs.98 Tsunami pack in terms of data. Where Jio is offering only 2 GB of data for 28 days, BSNL is offering a massive 39 GB of data for 26 days. Besides offering 4G speeds, the only appreciable inclusion in Jio’s Rs.98 plan in comparison to BSNL’s Rs.98 ‘Data Tsunami’ plan is the unlimited voice calls and 300 SMS for the 28 days validity of the plan.

Airtel Rs.99 Plan

Like Jio, Airtel too has several under Rs.100 plans for its subscribers. They include a Rs.29 plan, Rs.49 plan, Rs.92 plan, and Rs.99 plan. For Rs.99, an Airtel subscriber of the plan will get 3GB of data for a period of 28 days. No other benefits are on offer with this recharge plan from Airtel.

BSNL Launches ‘Onam Freedom’, ‘Chhota Pack’ Prepaid Recharge Plans; Offers Extra Talktime, Data Benefits

Bharti Airtel’s Rs.99 plan loses to BSNL’s ‘Data Tsunami’ pack in terms of data, where Airtel offers only 3GB of data, a BSNL subscriber can enjoy the enormous 39 GB of data. Both the internet service providers offer no other additional benefits along with the data benefit, except that Airtel offers 4G speed while BSNL is still limping along on 3G network.

In comparison with Reliance Jio, though Airtel is offering an extra 1GB than its young competitor, it is also lacking in additional call and SMS benefits that are tagged along with the Jio Rs.98 pack plus the accessibility to the Jio apps to the subscribers.
