Meizu X8 gets certified by 3C in China

Chinese certification agency 3C has certified an upcoming Meizu smartphone carrying the model number M816Q. If rumors are to be believed, the Meizu M816Q will debut as the X8 in China. Now that the smartphone has received 3C certification, we can expect it to be made official by Meizu very soon.

Meizu X8: 3C Certification Received

The 3C certification does not include any interesting information regarding the upcoming device, except that it will be bundled with a UP0512S power adapter with 5VDC 1.2A charging. As we mentioned above, the certification does suggest that Meizu is almost ready to launch the device in China. In the coming days, we expect the Meizu X8 to make an appearance on the TENAA website as well, which should give us a better idea regarding its hardware specifications as well as design.

Meizu X8: Rumored Specifications

A few weeks back, Meizu CEO Jack Wong had revealed that the company will be launching a mid-range smartphone dubbed Meizu 16X in September. It was then speculated that the Meizu X8 may actually debut as the Meizu 16X. However, according to a new post by Wong, the X8 and 16X are two different devices. Both the X8 and 16X are going to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 710 octa-core processor under the hood, making them direct rivals to the Xiaomi Mi 8 SE. While the 16X is expected to come with a design similar to the company’s flagship models and an in-display fingerprint sensor, the X8 is expected to have a notched display.

Alleged Meizu X8 Gets Certified with Model Number M816Q

The smartphone’s display size has not been revealed yet but the company’s CEO has claimed that the Meizu 8X will arrive with a slightly bigger display than the Mi 8 SE, which sports a 5.88-inch Super AMOLED notched display. Unlike the Meizu 16X, the Meizu 8X could feature a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. As for pricing, the smartphone is likely to be priced between 1,500 yuan (Rs.15,300 approx.) and 2,000 yuan (Rs.20,400 approx.) in China. No launch date has been confirmed yet, although we do think it is possible that the Meizu 8X will debut alongside the Meizu 16X sometime next month.
