The official Twitter App for Windows 10 has now been updated. The Windows 10 Twitter app is a PWA (Progressive Web App) and it can be automatically updated on its own.
The In-house Push to Twitter
Microsoft Store App recently updated and managed to push out some new features for the week-old updated Twitter app. It seems that these features needed a system-wide nudge to dial it all up.
Several features that were added when the Twitter app updated last week, became live once the app went through the system-wide push. As per the official release notes, this would include easier navigation for users of Screen Readers as they steer pages alongside the main timeline, a maximum of 15MB video can be attached to tweets.
Easy creation of threads like adding extra tweets to a new thread, search results highlight the actual query matched in every single result, shared Tweet via DM will send automatically when the recipient is chosen.
The conversation can be viewed after being sent by clicking on the toast notification. And descriptive text can now be attached to tweeted photos to help screen readers get a clearer understanding of the context of the taken photo.
Updated Window-specific Features
A couple of window-specific features became active in the updated Twitter app because of the in-house update. One of the features is that links to the SNS website from the Edge Browser will open in the Twitter app. Another one is that viewing moment or live events will enter the Windows Timeline and can be accessed later to see it at your discretion. The latest update finally got the animated GIFs and auto-play videos to the app’s Timeline on Windows 10.
Twitter Lite 2.0 Launches With Push Notifications, Dark Mode, Threads And Bookmarking
The only glitch in the system is that the in-house update happened simultaneously for the Twitter app on all window devices, the GIFs and videos still appear stationary until specifically tapped on the Windows 10 phone. Unfortunately, while the app also updated for Windows 10 Mobile Windows phones, videos and gifs still seem to be static until tapped.
