OnePlus 6T Existence Now Confirmed With EEC Certification in Russia; Launch Imminent?

A major leak earlier this month revealed the OnePlus 6T will be launched as a T-Mobile exclusive in the US sometime In October this year. The upcoming smartphone has now been certified by the Eurasian Economic Commission, confirming its existence.

OnePlus 6T: Receives EEC Certification in Russia

The EEC has certified the OnePlus 6T variant carrying the model number A6013. For reference, the equivalent OnePlus 6 variant carries the model number A6003. Unfortunately, the EEC listing does not include any other important information regarding the upcoming OnePlus flagship smartphone.

OnePlus 6T Reportedly Launching in October to be Sold by T-Mobile; Price Likely to Start From $550

OnePlus 6T: Expected Price in India, Launch Date

The OnePlus 6T is expected to be launched in India soon after its global debut. If the rumors of the smartphone launching in October this year are true, we can expect the OnePlus 6T to go on sale in the country before the end of October. India is usually one of the first markets where the latest OnePlus flagship smartphones are launched, so we do think the OnePlus 6T will be going on sale in India before many other markets. As for the pricing, the OnePlus 6T will probably cost the same as the current OnePlus 6, which starts at Rs.34,999 for the base variant with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. However, we wouldn’t be very surprised if OnePlus decides to charge just a little more for the new model.

OnePlus 6T: Rumored Specifications, Features

Let’s start with the obvious. Just like the OnePlus 6, the OnePlus 6T will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 octa-core processor clocked at 2.8 GHz with an Adreno 630 GPU. In the memory department as well, we expect the OnePlus 6T to be identical to the current model. That means it will be available in three configurations – 6GB RAM + 64GB storage, 8GB RAM + 128GB storage, and 8GB RAM + 256GB storage. Further expansion, however, is not likely to be supported.

As for the design and display, there is a very good chance that the OnePlus 6T might be similar to the recently unveiled OPPO R17 Pro. The R17 Pro features a 6.4-inch Full HD+ resolution AMOLED display with a water drop notch design. Seeing how the OnePlus 6 is identical to the OPPO R15 Pro in terms of display size, we are fairly certain that the OnePlus 6T will indeed feature a slightly larger display than its predecessor. In addition to the much smaller notch, we are expecting the OnePlus 6T to offer an in-display fingerprint sensor as well.

The other major change is expected to be in the camera department. Rumors suggest the upcoming OnePlus flagship smartphone will boast a triple-camera setup at the rear, just like the R17 Pro. The primary sensor on the back of the OPPO R17 Pro features a variable aperture lens, similar to the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus and Galaxy Note 9 smartphones. It also comes with a 20MP secondary camera and a TOF 3D camera module. We also expect to see an upgraded selfie camera on the front. The OnePlus 6 uses pretty much the same 16MP selfie camera module as the OnePlus 5T from last year.

Oppo R17 Pro: Will This be the OnePlus 6T For Global Market? Here’s What We Think

Connectivity-wise, the OnePlus 6T is likely to be identical to the OnePlus 6 with support for Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac dual-band, Bluetooth 5.0 Low Energy, NFC, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, USB Type-C port, and 4G VoLTE. In terms of software, the OnePlus 6T will probably be launched with Android 9 Pie OS out of the box. The rest of the smartphone’s specifications remain a mystery for now but we do expect to find out a lot more about the upcoming flagship in the coming weeks to come.
