Oppo F9 Pro: 5 Reasons Why Vivo V11 Pro Will Be A Better Pick Over the Oppo’s Latest Phone

Oppo recently launched the F9 Pro in India at an event held in Mumbai. The phone is about to go on sale starting August 31 exclusively via Flipkart. Select offline stores have already begun selling the phone with attractive discount and cashback offers. However, a challenger is about to make its debut soon and is likely to become a fierce rival the moment it does. This would be the Vivo V11 Pro which is expected to be unveiled at an event in India on September 6.

Here we take a look at the top 5 reason why you might be better off waiting for the Vivo V11 Pro instead of going with the Oppo F9 Pro.

Performance

The first clear advantage the Vivo V11 Pro has over the Oppo F9 is in terms of its performance. The V11 Pro is powered by a Snapdragon 660 which has an octa-core CPU with four of its cores clocked at 2.2GHz while the other four are clocked at 1.8GHz. On the other hand, the F9 Pro comes with an Helio P60 which has all of its eight cores clocked at 2.0GHz. Even though the Helio CPU has a similar setup where four of its cores are meant for performance while the other four are assigned for battery management, benchmarks have clearly revealed how the Qualcomm chipset outperforms its competition in terms of both raw performance and efficiency.

Display

The next clear advantage of going with the V11 Pro is that you will get a Super AMOLED screen that measures 6.41-inches and offers a Full HD+ resolution. While the F9 Pro’s screen also comes with a similar size at 6.3-inches and with a Full HD+ resolution, this is just an LCD panel. Even the best of LCD panels pale in comparison when it comes to even an adequately well-built AMOLED panel. The black levels of OLED screen are always better, and the overall image quality is also usually significantly superior.

In-screen Fingerprint Scanner

Then there is the matter of the fingerprint scanning technology. It just so happens that Vivo is going to equip the V11 Pro with an in-display fingerprint scanner. This is claimed to be the fourth-generation sensor which would be noticeably faster and more accurate than the previous iterations. While this does not mean the rear-mounted fingerprint scanner on the F9 Pro is bad, but it is still an older technology and it might be time for Oppo to bring more of its devices closer to newer trends.

4K Capable Front Camera

It so happens that the primary lens on the Oppo F9 Pro is larger (16MP) compared to the one found on the Vivo V11 Pro (12MP). However, the latter is able to record 4K videos at a maximum frame rate of 30FPS while Oppo’s handset can only go as high as 1080p at 30FPS. Furthermore, the V11 Pro offers a secondary 5MP depth sensor lens while the F9 Pro only offers a 2MP lens. While the exact camera comparison will be something we would have to test out for ourselves, these specs do give us a clear enough idea of which device is likely to perform better.

HDR Capable Selfie shooter

This might be falling into the nit-picking category, but there is one advantage the V11 Pro’s selfie camera has over the F9 Pro’s. While both happen to offer 25MP cameras, only the Vivo handset provides HDR functionality on the front-facing camera. This means the front camera of the V11 Pro would be significantly more competent at handling a broader range of lighting conditions. HDR would ensure better selfie clarity in low-light conditions.

What do you think? Would you rather wait for the V11 Pro to come out or would you still rather get the F9 Pro? Let us know in the comments below.
