Airtel is now offering digital content streaming site Netflix subscription for free. The offer is available exclusively for select Airtel postpaid customers. They will be getting the basic Netflix plan with their subscription. They will not have to pay any extra cost like starting subscription fee of Rs. 500 worth Netflix membership. The offer is exclusive to postpaid plans starting from Rs.499.
Airtel Postpaid Plan Subscribers Eligible for Free Basic Netflix Subscription
Airtel had promised free Netflix subscription with its postpaid plans a few weeks ago. The telco is now ready to fulfill that promise. Selected Airtel postpaid subscriptions will get free Netflix membership. All Airtel postpaid plans above Rs.499 can now avail the Basic Netflix plan at no extra cost. Basic Netflix subscription otherwise costs Rs.500 a month.
Airtel’s Infinity postpaid packs under the myPlan tab have an entry plan of Rs.399. But the free Netflix subscription is not offered to the base plan. Rather the offer is out to postpaid plans Rs. 499 and higher. Infinity postpaid plans eligible for complimentary Basic Netflix plan are Rs.2,999, Rs.1,999, Rs.1,599, Rs.1,199, Rs.799, Rs.649, and Rs.499. These plans will get three month Basic Netflix subscription worth Rs.1,500 free with their postpaid plan.

To take on Vodafone Idea who as an ongoing partnership with Netflix for its premium RED postpaid plans, Airtel too has partnered up with Netflix. Under this alliance, Airtel postpaid, as well as broadband subscribers, will be able to get Rs.1,500 worth Netflix basic subscription for three months for free. The offer is currently out to select postpaid users. There is still no news about which Airtel broadband plans will get this offer.
All the Airtel myPlan Infinity postpaid plan users with the exception of the base plan of Rs.399 are eligible to receive complimentary basic Netflix subscription for three months. The basic plan of Netflix costs Rs.500 per month. So in effect, the Infinity plan customers are receiving a benefit worth Rs.1,500 with this new offer from Airtel under 500 bucks.
Netflix Benefits to Airtel Infinity Postpaid Users
Under the Basic Netflix plan, the Airtel Infinity postpaid user will be able to watch digital content on a single screen only. Multiple active logins under the same ID will not work. But the postpaid user will get the entire content under the Netflix catalog which has been provided to them.
Also, the Netflix subscription offer is open to all eligible Airtel postpaid customers. It will not matter if the user already has a Netflix membership. New Netflix member will get the Basic plan worth Rs.1,500 for three months while the existing Netflix member will receive Rs.1,500 as credit into their Netflix account. Their current plan will run uninterrupted.
After the completion of the promotional three months, if the postpaid customer continues with his Netflix subscription, he will be charged Rs.500 for the Basic plan and the amount will be added to his Airtel bill. Whereas, the existing Netflix subscriber will continue on existing plan. A point to note is that if a user downgrades his postpaid plan to one not part of the Netflix offer, his subscription will cease immediately.
How to Avail the Offer?
Postpaid subscribers of plans Rs.499 and above can avail the offer through MyAirtel app or Airtel TV. Airtel has also recently launched an Airtel Thanks program which contains all the offers one user can redeem.
The user needs to click on Netflix under the Airtel Thanks tab in MyAirtel app. This will redirect them to the Netflix site where a new user can create an account and an existing one can simply log in to redeem the offer. Airtel TV app flashes the offer banner to eligible customers only.
