Airtel vs Vodafone vs BSNL: Postpaid Plans Priced at Rs.399 With Free Amazon Prime Subscription  

Competition is really heating up in the Indian telecom space. Each telco is trying to come up with unique value offers for its subscribers. The race is on to retain existing customers, bring in more, and increase the CMS and RMS. Besides the leading private telecommunicators Vodafone Idea and Bharti Airtel, state-owned BSNL is also joining in the race. That is why the telcos are partnering with digital content aggregators like Amazon to offer its complementary subscriptions with their selected postpaid plans.

Airtel Rs.399 Infinity Postpaid Plan

Airtel launched its Rs.399 postpaid plan quite recently. It is now an entry-level plan under its Infinity postpaid portfolio. The Rs.399 postpaid plan is a combo recharge plan offering data, voice calling, and SMS benefits to its subscribers. But the USP of this plan is the massive data benefit attached to it.

The Rs.399 postpaid plan offers 40GB of data along with unlimited by FUP voice local, STD, and roaming calls and daily 100 SMS to any number whether local or national. This postpaid plan also has a data rollover facility. This means that any leftover data from the previous month is carried forward to the next.

A total discount of Rs.50 is offered for every month for six billing cycles, taking the cumulative discount to Rs.300. The Rs.399 Airtel postpaid plan also comes with a complimentary subscription to Wynk Music and Airtel TV for three months but no Amazon Prime subscription, neither the recently launched Basic Netflix subscription. The Amazon Prime membership begins for Infinity postpaid plans starting at Rs.499.

Vodafone Rs.399 RED Postpaid Plan

The Rs.399 RED postpaid plan offers 40GB of data with unlimited calling, SMS benefits and a year subscription to Amazon Prime absolutely free. The Amazon Prime yearly membership usually costs Rs.999. But its subscription now comes at no Extra cost with any of the RED postpaid plans including the Rs.399 plan. The subscription can be activated through the Vodafone Play app.

Vodafone now offers its RED postpaid customers an amazing discount of 50% along with a free subscription of Amazon Prime. But to avail the benefit, the Vodafone RED subscriber needs to buy a Citibank credit card. Rs.399 is the beginning plan for the RED portfolio.

The RED Rs.399 postpaid plan comes with a monthly discount of Rs.200 bringing the cost of the plan down to 50%. But the discount of Rs.200 per month and Rs.2,400 yearly remains the same for all the RED postpaid plans, thus decreasing the percentage savings as the plan denomination goes up. The discount is also valid for 12 billing cycles only. The discount is applicable to the rental only.

To qualify, the RED subscriber needs to buy a Citibank credit card and make a purchase of minimum Rs.4,000 in the first couple of months. The offer is out to segmented circles only. People above the age of 23 in the cities of Jaipur, Chandigarh, Chennai, Coimbatore, Ahmedabad, Baroda, Hyderabad, Secunderabad, Bengaluru, Pune, Mumbai, Kolkata, Noida, Gurugram, and Delhi, can avail this offer.

BSNL Rs.399 Postpaid Plan

The Rs.399 postpaid plan by BSNL offers 30GB of data and unlimited calling to its subscriber. And now the plan offers a year’s worth of Amazon Prime membership absolutely free along with to plans of higher denominations.

The complimentary one year Amazon Prime membership gives BSNL subscribers free access to Amazon Prime Music and Prime Video, exclusive access to Amazon Prime deals, and free Prime delivery of orders for two days.

Out of the three Airtel’s Rs.399 postpaid plan loses as it does not offer Amazon Prime subscription. Among Vodafone and BSNL, it is the BSNL plan that wins as along with Amazon Prime Video membership, the subscription comes with extra Prime benefits to the subscribers.
