Realme C1: 5 Reasons the Latest Affordable Realme Phone is Best Alternative to Xiaomi Redmi 6, 6A

On September 27 Realme surprised us all by launching a new smartphone alongside the Realme 2 Pro. The Oppo owned company announced the new entry level Realme C1, which brings great features at a really affordable price.

The Realme C1 competes with the likes of the Xiaomi Redmi 6 and the Redmi 6A, so we decided to compare them all. In this post, we are going to telling you 5 reasons why the Realme C1 is a better alternative to the Redmi 6 and 6A. And we aren’t going to include the price in the list.

The Realme C1 at Rs. 6,999, and you get a lot for that money. It will go on sale on October 11th on Flipkart. The Redmi 6 and 6A from Xiaomi are also similarly priced, but lag behind in several ways. Let us get right in to it.

Realme C1 vs Redmi 6 vs Redmi 6A: Design

Design is important to customers, and the Realme C1 is easily the best looking out of the three. It’s made out of a polyglass body, which gives it a very premium and glossy looking back. The Redmi 6 and 6A feature a plastic body, which is why they aren’t that good looking.

The Realme C1 also comes with a notch at the front, and slim bezels all around. The Redmi 6 phones get thick bezels, and smaller displays. They just don’t look very nice when compared to the Realme device.

Realme C1 vs Redmi 6 vs Redmi 6A: Display

The Realme phone also has the biggest display among the three. It comes with a 6.2-inch notched LCD screen, which has a 19:9 aspect ratio, and an HD+ resolution.

The Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A, both feature a 5.45-inch LCD panel, with an HD+ resolution, and 18:9 aspect ratio. There’s no notch here, and as mentioned earlier, both have got thick bezels at the top and bottom.

Realme C1 vs Redmi 6 vs Redmi 6A: Hardware

In terms of hardware and performance, the Realme C1 might lag a little behind the Redmi 6, but not by much. Both the Redmi 6 and 6A come with a MediaTek chipset, while the Realme C1 features a Snapdragon 450 processor. The Realme C1 gets 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage.

The Redmi 6 is powered by a MediaTek P22 that’s coupled with 3GB RAM and up to 64GB storage, and the Redmi 6A gets a MediaTek A22 with 2GB RAM and up to 32GB storage. The Realme C1 has a good entry level chipset, despite the lower RAM and storage option, when compared to the Redmi phones.

Both the Realme C1 and the Redmi 6A lack a fingerprint sensor though, which is available on the Redmi 6.

Realme C1 vs Redmi 6 vs Redmi 6A: Camera

In the camera department, the Realme C1 gets a similar setup like the Redmi 6, but is far better than the Redmi 6A. It comes with dual-rear camera setup, with a primary 13MP sensor, and a secondary 2MP depth sensor. On the front, there’s a 5MP selfie unit.

The Redmi 6 has a 12MP+5MP rear camera setup, and a 5MP camera for selfies. The Redmi 6A, on the other hand, has a single 13MP rear camera, and a 5MP front camera. Software features are available on all three devices, which make photography a little better. Face Unlock is also an option on all the phones.

Realme C1 vs Redmi 6 vs Redmi 6A: Battery

Coming to the battery, the Realme C1 wins this by a mile. It comes with a massive 4230mAh battery, which should easily last two days on a single charge.

Meanwhile, the Xiaomi Redmi 6 and the Redmi 6A come with a 3000mAh battery. So yes, that’s another reason why the Realme C1 is a better alternative to the Redmi 6/6A.
