Vivo V15 Pro With Pop-Up Selfie Camera Gets Certified by NBTC in Thailand

Yesterday, Vivo India started sending out press invites to a launch event in India on February 20. While the company hasn’t confirmed many details yet, the press invite makes it quite clear that Vivo will be launching a new smartphone with a pop-up selfie camera, similar to the one seen on the Vivo NEX flagship smartphone from last year. Many are speculating that the device could be the V15 Pro mid-ranger. The V15 Pro moniker has now been confirmed, thanks to Thailand’s NBTC certification agency.

Vivo V15 Pro Will Succeed the V11 Pro in India

The NBTC certification reveals the Vivo 1818 will be called the Vivo V15 Pro in Thailand and other markets around the world. Apart from its marketing name, the NBTC certification does not reveal any other information regarding the upcoming smartphone. Last month, the Vivo 1818 was spotted on the EEC website along with a few other upcoming smartphones from the company. Similar to the NBTC certification, however, the EEC listing did not include any key details regarding the smartphone’s hardware.

Since Vivo is holding the launch event in India just a few days before MWC 2019, we believe that the V15 Pro will be making its global debut in India. The smartphone is expected to be the direct successor to the V11 Pro, which was launched in India in September last year at a price of INR 25,990. We expect the V15 Pro to be launched in India at a similar price point as its predecessor. In terms of hardware, the Vivo V15 Pro may be powered by a newer Snapdragon 670 or Snapdragon 710 chipset under the hood. The current V11 Pro runs on a Snapdragon 660 AIE chipset coupled with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard memory. At the rear, Vivo V15 Pro is rumored to feature an impressive triple-camera setup. This means the V15 Pro will be the first Vivo smartphone with triple rear cameras to launch in India. Apart from a triple-camera setup on the back, the V15 Pro will also have a highly impressive pop-up selfie snapper with a bunch of AI-powered features to enhance the selfie experience.
