Huawei Nova 5i Geekbench Listing Confirms Kirin 710 SoC and 4GB RAM

Huawei’s upcoming Nova 5 and Nova 5i smartphones were certified by the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) recently. In addition to the ECC, Nova 5i was granted certification by the US FCC as well as China’s 3C certification agency. The upcoming mid-range Android smartphone has now made an appearance on the popular Geekbench benchmark database, revealing a few hardware details.

Huawei Nova 5i Will be Powered by a 12nm Kirin 710 Chipset

The GLK-LX3 listing on Geekbench confirms the Huawei Nova 5i will have a Kirin 710 octa-core processor under the hood. Built on a 12nm process, the Kirin 710 powers several mid-range smartphones from Huawei as well as its sub-brand Honor. In terms of benchmarking performance, the GLK-LX3 variant of the Nova 5i achieved a single-core score of 1,538 and multi-core score of 5,388. As expected, these scores are in line with what other smartphones powered by the same processor score on Geekbench. In addition to confirming the chipset under the hood, the Geekbench listing reveals the phone will have 4GB of RAM. The smartphone’s 3C certification had revealed that it will be shipped with a 10W charger in the box. While it may not have fast charging support, the Nova 5i will not be a disappointment in terms of battery life. Going by the Nova 5i listing on the FCC website, it will come equipped with a 3900mAh battery.

On the software front, the listing suggests Nova 5i will launch with Android 9.0 Pie operating system out of the box. However, it is important to note that future devices from Huawei may not have access to the Google Play Store and other Google services. Huawei is likely to make the switch to its in-house developed mobile operating system code-named HongMeng once the Android ban comes into full effect. According to some reports, Huawei’s own operating system might be called ARK OS.
