Honor 9X, Magic Watch 2 to Launch in India in January 2020; Honor Vision TV, Magic Book Also in the Plan

Huawei launched the Honor 9X series of smartphones in China back in July 2019. We have not heard of the Indian launch of the device ever since. As it turns out, the company is planning on making a comeback to India with the launch of Honor 9X alongside a bunch of other products (which we will talk about in detail) as early as January 2020. For those waiting for these devices to launch in India, it is finally good news.

As per the source, the company has confirmed that both the Honor 9X smartphone and the Honor Magic Watch 2, which was launched last month, by the way, are going to be launched in India in January 2020. In addition to this, the company has also confirmed that it is planning on launching the Honor MagicBook laptop and the Honor Vision TV as well, in India. Though the company has not confirmed it, it is being believed that the latter might also get launched in January itself.

Speaking of the specifications of the device, the Honor 9X sports a 6.59-inch FHD+ OLED display with a pop-up camera mechanism. The screen gives out a resolution of  2340 x 1080 pixels. The Honor 9X has a Kirin 810 chipset in the helm which is based on a 7nm architecture that comprises of two Cortex-A76 performance cores and six energy-efficient Cortex-A55 cores. The chipset is paired with a Mali-G52 GPU, 4GB/6GB of RAM, and 64GB/128GB of internal storage.

Additionally, there is scope for further expansion via an external SD card. To make sure that the lights of the device stay on, the Honor 9X is provided with a 4,000mAh battery cell. On the software front, the Honor 9X comes with Android 9 Pie out of the box with EMUI 9.1 baked on top of it.

Moving on to the cameras used in the device, the Honor 9X smartphone features a dual rear camera setup – a 48MP primary sensor which is accompanied by a 2MP depth sensor. For selfies, the Honor 9X utilises a 16MP shooter. Connectivity features include 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, A-GPS, and USB Type-C port.

As far as the price of the Honor 9X is concerned, the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant of the device is priced at CNY 1,399 in China which roughly translates to somewhere around Rs 14,000. The 6GB RAM and 64GB storage variant is priced at CNY 1,599 or around Rs 16,000, and the 6GB RAM and 128GB variant is priced at CNY 1,899, or around Rs 19,000. Honor Magic Watch 2 specifications

The Honor Magic Watch 2 is the latest offering from Huawei’s sub-brand in the smartwatches department. The smartwatch touts a two weeks battery life and comes in two sizes – 42mm and 46mm. Powering the Honor Magic Watch 2 is a Kirin A1 chipset. The smartwatch comes with 15 fitness tracking modes, sleep tracking,  heart rate monitoring, Bluetooth calling, and offline music playback modes.
