Huawei P40 Pro to Sport Quad Curved Display, Penta Camera Setup, Design Leaked Via CAD Renders

Huawei might be temporarily facing lots of issues in the international market due to the ongoing trade war between the US and China. That, however, wasn’t enough to prevent the company from retaining its position as the world’s second-largest smartphone maker – just behind Samsung – and ahead of Apple. Earlier this year, Huawei launched its flagship smartphone — the Mate 30 Pro in select markets across the globe. Going by Huawei’s launch cycle, the company is expected to launch its high-end camera-centric P-Series handset in the month of March. Until now, we had scant information pertaining to the new P40 Series. Recently, however, images of a new device – purported to be the Huawei P40 Pro – appeared on Twitter. The leak also talked about the possible specifications of this phone.

Huawei P40 Pro Leaked Renders

The renders of the Huawei P40 Pro was tweeted out by a relatively unknown leakster known as @ RODENT950. He is reportedly a member of the Slashleaks community. He also clearly says that these CAD renders are based on existing rumors and leaks. There is a good chance that the actual Huawei P40 Pro might end up looking markedly different. Nevertheless, here are some of the images he posted.

Huawei P40 Pro Expected Specifications

The renders posted above indicate that the P40 Pro will feature a penta camera setup at the rear. The phone will reportedly use the 64-megapixel IMX 686 image sensor from Sony as the primary rear-facing camera. Apart from this, the handset could also get a 20-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, a 12-megapixel telephoto (periscope style) camera, a dedicated macro camera, and a ToF sensor for depth analysis. All five cameras will be housed inside a large camera module at the back. We still do not have any information pertaining to the front-facing camera on the P40 Pro.

The phone will reportedly feature a display that could measure between 6.5 and 6.7-inches across. Like in the case of the P30 Pro, we can expect this display to be curved as well. The Huawei P40 Pro will almost certainly use Huawei’s new Kiron 990 chipset, which was launched at IFA 2019 just a few months ago. It will also feature comprehensive support for 5G networks.
