After a lot of speculations and rumours, Realme has finally made it official. The first-ever 5G smartphone from Realme, dubbed the Realme X50, is launching on January 7, 2020. The company confirmed the news via its official Weibo handle yesterday. Let’s have a look at what we know about the Realme X50 5G smartphone so far.

Let’s talk about the Weibo post first of all. As per the launch event poster, the Realme X50 5G will be unveiled during an event at 14:00 (Chinese Standard Time) in Beijing, China. The poster further reveals two colour variants of the device – Blue and Silver. The rear of the device appears to be made of glass and is curved around the edges. The same, however, cannot be said about the front as we can notice a Black rim surrounding the display (at least that’s what we can make out from the poster) meaning that the Realme X50 5G could likely feature a flat-screen. As far as the pricing is concerned, the world of rumours is expecting aggressive pricing when it comes to the Realme X50 5G. The device is being speculated to be competing with the recently launched Redmi K30 5G smartphone. Plus, the Weibo post includes the keyword “youth” which could potentially be pointing out at the same, but we might as well take it as speculation as of now.

Speaking of what we know about the Realme X50 5G smartphone till date, the device is confirmed to sport a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chipset which will allegedly be paired with 6GB/8GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB of internal storage. At the display front, the Realme X50 is tipped to feature a 6.44-inch Samsung E2 Super AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. The screen will have a pill-shaped punch-hole for two front cameras, the resolutions of which, are tipped to be 32MP + 8MP. As far as the rear cameras are concerned, the rumours suggest that the Realme X50 5G will feature a quad rear camera setup – 60MP + 8MP + 2MP + 2MP. A 4,500mAh battery with support for VOOC 4.0 charging is reportedly going to fuel the device. The device is also confirmed to support simultaneous 5G and Wi-Fi connections.
As a matter of fact, the rumours suggest that there will be a Realme X50 Lite smartphone as well and that will also launch alongside the standard Realme X50 5G.
