Redmi Note 9 Pro is the First MIUI Running Xiaomi Phone to Join the Android Enterprise Recommended List

Redmi Note 9 Pro has become one of the latest smartphones to be added to Google’s Android Enterprise Recommended list of smartphones. While that is a seemingly regular incident, the Redmi Note 9 Pro has become the first Xiaomi smartphone running on its proprietary interface, MIUI, to be added to the Enterprise Recommended list of phones. So far, the three Xiaomi phones that featured in Google’s business recommended phones list were Mi A2, Mi A2 Lite and Mi A3, all of which were Android One devices.

Google’s Android Enterprise Recommended list features smartphones that Google finds worthy of recommending for businesses and enterprises. As a result, the list offers a sort-of validation for the selected smartphones, which are picked by Google as candidates for offering the ideal Android smartphone experience. The Redmi Note 9 Pro brings Xiaomi’s custom ROM, MIUI, to this list. MIUI has, at times, been flagged for offering a highly forked Android experience – with custom UI features and Xiaomi’s own suite of apps over Google’s ‘stock’ Android list.

However, being included in the Android Enterprise Recommended list is a positive sign for both Xiaomi and MIUI. One of the key criteria for qualifying smartphones is for OEMs to offer Android security updates within 90 days of them being released by Google, and Redmi Note 9 Pro owners can be assured of getting regular software updates on time.
