After teasing it for a while, POCO has finally taken the wraps off its entry-level POCO M2 smartphone in India. The POCO M2 is a budget-friendly smartphone, which is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G80 processor, 6GB of RAM, and a quadruple rear camera setup. POCO M2: Price in India
The POCO M2 is launched in 2 memory variants in the country, one with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which is priced at INR 10,999, and one with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, which is priced at INR 12,499. Furthermore, the brand has offered a flat INR 750 discount as part of the launch offer to ICICI Bank and Federal Bank customers.
POCO M2: Specifications and features
Starting with the display of the device, the POCO M2 sports a 6.53-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD panel. The display of the device has a waterdrop notch at the top, which makes room for the selfie snapper. The front of the device is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The POCO M2 also comes with TUV Rheinland Blue Light certification.
Under the hood, the POCO M2 is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G80 processor, which is paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. If 128GB of storage does not suffice for your media consumption needs, the same can be expanded with the help of an external SD card. At the bottom of the device, the POCO M2 retains a 3.5mm headphone jack and an ultra-linear speaker. Coming to the color variants of the device, the POCO M2 has three color options to choose from – Pitch Black, Slate Blue, and Brick Red.
On the software side of things, POCO M2 runs the latest Android 10 OS out of the box. The brand has promised that there will be no ads in POCO M2 and MIUI 12 will also be making its way to the device soon. In the battery department, the POCO M2 features a large 5,000mAh battery, which has provision for up to 18W fast charging over a USB Type-C charging port.
Coming to the cameras of the device, the POCO M2 flaunts a quadruple rear camera setup, which includes a 13MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide angle camera, a 5MP macro lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. Underneath the camera module, there is a physical fingerprint scanner. At the front, the POCO M2 features an 8MP selfie snapper.
