HMD Global is yet to roll out a timeline for its devices that will get Android 11 update, while other companies like Xiaomi, Realme, OnePlus, Oppo and more have already revealed the list of devices that will get the update. Nokia Mobile posted the timeline of the phones getting Android 11 update, though it removed it shortly. However, folks at Neowin was able to grab a screenshot before the tweet was taken down. The now-deleted tweet revealed that HMD Global has rolled out 1,000 updates in the last 3 years as a part of their 3-year promise. So, let’s take a closer look at the list of devices that might get Android 11 update.
Nokia Android 11 Schedule Details
As per the screenshot, the company is planning to roll out Android 11 update to four Nokia smartphones this year. The list includes Nokia 8.3 5G, Nokia 2.2, Nokia 5.3, Nokia 8.1. The company will then roll out the update to the second batch in Q1 of 2021. The batch includes Nokia 1.3, Nokia 4.2, Nokia 2.4, Nokia 3.4, and Nokia 2.3.
In Q2 of 2021, the company might roll out Android 11 update to Nokia 3.2, Nokia 7.2, Nokia 6.2, Nokia 1 Plus and Nokia 8 PureView. The company has dropped many phones from the list, including flagships like Nokia 8 Sirocco as well as budget devices like the original Nokia 1. That said, the timeline might change. But looking at the schedule it is sad to see that a brand like Nokia, which wanted to differentiate itself from the competition by offering regular software updates, will roll out the new Android 11 with such delays.
In another news, HMD Global is reportedly gearing up to launch Nokia 9.3 PureView, Nokia 7.3, and Nokia 6.3 smartphones in the month of November. As per a report, the company is currently looking to launch the smartphones by the late Q4 of 2020.
