Samsung Galaxy M51 Receives First Update Ahead of Its First Sale in India Tomorrow

Samsung recently announced a new mid-range smartphone, the Galaxy M51, in India. The smartphone comes with a host of interesting features including a mammoth 7000mAh battery with 22.5W fast charging support. The phone comes with a Super AMOLED panel, quad-camera setup, 32MP front camera, and more, which makes it a good option in this price range. The phone is scheduled to go on sale in India tomorrow, however, the brand is rolling out its first update before it goes to the end customers. Samsung has rolled out a new update for its Galaxy M51 smartphone and let’s take a look at it.

Samsung Galaxy M51 update details

The Samsung Galaxy M51 first update comes with version number M515FXXU1ATI1 and weighs 190.10 MB. The official changelog reveals that the update brings older August 2020 security patch. This is odd as other players like Realme are rolling out September security patch to their smartphones.

The changelog reveals that the update improves the stability of Adaptive brightness. It also brings improved stability of the camera and enhances the security of the device. Apart from this, the update brings general bug fixes and improvements to performance.

Samsung Galaxy M51 specifications

Recollecting the specifications, the Samsung Galaxy M51 flaunts a 6.67-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity-O display with a screen resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels, 420nits peak brightness, 386ppi pixel density, and 20:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone is loaded with Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G processor along with Adreno 618 GPU. The phone features up to 8GB of RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage.

In terms of optics, the device is loaded with an L-shaped quad-rear camera setup with ac combination of 64MP primary lens with f/1.8 aperture, 12MP wide-angle lens with f/2.2 aperture, 5MP depth and 5MP macro lens. On the front, there is a 32MP shooter.

Samsung Galaxy M51 runs on Android 10 with OneUI 2.1 on top of it. It gets its juice from the massive 7,000mAh battery and one can fast charge it using the 22.5W fast charger that comes bundled with the box. On the connectivity front, it supports Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5, GPS + GLONASS, 3.5mm audio jack and USB Type-C port.

The Samsung Galaxy M51 will go on sale tomorrow i.e. September 18. It will be available for purchase from Amazon and Samsung along with select retail stores. The Samsung Galaxy M51 price in India is INR 24,999 for the 6GB RAM + 128GB and INR 26,999 for 8GB RAM + 128GB model.
