OnePlus 9, OnePlus 9 Pro Codenames Leaked, Expected to Launch in Q1 2021: Here’s What You Can Expect

It has been less than a month since OnePlus launched the OnePlus 8T in India, and OnePlus 9 leaks have already started surfacing online. OnePlus is expected to launch two new smartphones under the OnePlus 9 series namely, the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro. The two smartphones are expected to launch in March or April next year. Ahead of the rumoured launch, OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro codenames have been leaked. Specifications and features of the two smartphones are currently unknown. However, we can expect the OnePlus 8T and OnePlus 8 Pro successors to come packed with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 processor. Here’s what we know so far about the OnePlus 9 series.

OnePlus 9 series is expected to debut in Q1 2021. The two smartphones are expected to launch in March or April 2021. Ahead of the rumoured launch, OnePlus 9 series codenames and model numbers have been leaked. The OnePlus 9 series has been codenamed “Lemonade”. Previously, tipster Max J had posted a graphic teaser that revealed the OnePlus 9 series codename. While specifications of the two devices are unknown, TechDroider has leaked the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro codenames.

OnePlus 9 has the model number LE2110, whereas the OnePlus 9 Pro has the model numbers LE2117, LE2119, and LE2120.

There is also a mysterious OnePlus device with the model number LE2127. The leaker, although not sure, speculates that OnePlus may launch 3 Phones in the OnePlus 9 series. He cites a report from China that states that the company will indeed launch three OnePlus 9 smartphones.

The article also reveals some details about the OnePlus 9 series. These include a 144Hz AMOLED display with a centre punch-hole cutout, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 SoC, dual stereo-speaker setup, NFC, and an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. The report further states that the OnePlus 9 series will feature 65W fast charging and 45W wireless charging.

OnePlus recently launched the OnePlus 8T in India and other international markets. Priced at 42,999 for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant, the device sports a 6.55-inch FHD+ Fluid AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 20:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, the smartphone packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC, paired with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB internal memory.  

 OnePlus 8T packs a 48MP quad-rear camera setup including an LED flash. The primary sensor on the smartphone is a Sony IMX586 sensor with OIS, EIS, f/1.7 aperture, and 0.8μm pixel size. The primary sensor on the 8T gets accompanied by a 16MP Sony IMX481 ultra-wide-angle lens with f/2.2 aperture and 116° field-of-view. There is also a 5MP macro camera with 3cm fixed focal length, along with a 2MP depth sensor.
