Samsung Brings Google Assistant to its 2020 Smart TV Lineup

Samsung has announced that it will add Google Assistant to its Smart TVs 2020 lineup. The South Korean giant already offers Bixby as its default virtual assistant for its range of Smart TVs. With this, Samsung Smart TV customers can now use Google Assistant to give different commands like adjusting the volume, playback controls, open apps, and more. The company has already integrated Amazon Alexa with its range of Smart TVs earlier this year. So, in total, customers will have up to three voice assistants in Samsung Smart TV range: Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, and Bixby. Here’s what you need to know about the Google integration to the Samsung 2020 Smart TVs lineup.

The company has revealed that it is rolling out Google Assistant to its 2020 range of Smart TVs. The virtual assistant along with Alexa and Bixby is now available on all 2020 4K and 8K QLED TVs, Crystal UHD TVs, The Frame, The Serif, The Sero and The Terrace. Furthermore, the assistants are compatible with viewers’ existing voice assistant ecosystems.

With this, customers can now use Alexa, Bixby, and Assistant. Users can ask Alexa, Bixby or Google Assistant to provide the weather forecast, find out the latest game scores or play their favourite tunes.

Users can add another hub to any room in the house with Samsung Smart TVs. The company says that one control the light, set the thermostat, set an alarm or perform any other tasks with the existing voice assistant.

“The use of voice assistants on our Smart TVs has grown exponentially since Bixby’s launch in 2018,” said Seline Han, Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics. “With Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa now supported, we are inviting our consumers to ask even more of their Smart TVs.”
