Apex Legends For Android Could Launch in July 2021 For Early Access, Full Release in 2022

The battle royale genre has become quite saturated over the years. Despite that, games like Apex Legends have managed to maintain their popularity. Respawn Entertainment has done a pretty fine job of keeping the playerbase engaged with regular content updates as well. The game is all set to make its debut on the Nintendo Switch as well. Considering how popular games like Fortnite are on the Switch, this should boost the playerbase considerably. To celebrate the launch, Respawn is also giving away 30 free Battle Pass levels and double XP for the first two weeks. Now it seems like the developers are looking to launch the game on Android.

Don’t know if this has been shared yet, but it seems Apex mobile playtesting is in the works. from ApexUncovered

Apex Legends Mobile launch on the radar as playtest spotted on EA’s website

According to Reddit user, r/EXO_R3EECH EA is reportedly running playtests for Apex Legends Mobile. He states that the playtest is available for anyone who owns an Android device. The game requires either Google Pixel 3 above or Samsung Galaxy S8 and above.

To sign up for the playtest, players need to go to the EA playtesting website and sign in with their EA account. After following a few instructions, players will be able to get access to the playtest. It should be noted that the playtest is currently restricted to residents of the USA and Canada. In all likelihood, the playtest is currently restricted to the devices in the lineup mentioned above.

Early Access to take place in July, full release likely shifted

According to Twitter user PlayerIGN, the game will be released by the end of 2022. However, the early access phase will begin in July this year. While the game was slated for a 2021 launch, it seems like it has been delayed. It is further stated that the game is made with a partner in China, which is reportedly Tencent. If that’s the case, we might as well bid goodbye to the game’s launch plans in India, considering the current situation against Chinese apps in the country.

While the current playtest is restricted to Android users, iOS users shouldn’t be disheartened. The game is already confirmed to be releasing on both iOS and Android. This is likely one of the many playtests that is set to take place. So if you are not able to take part in the playtest now, you will be able to at a later date. If the playtests go on pretty well, it is expected that we might see the game launching pretty soon.
