Redmi Note 12 Pro 4G Launch Tipped; Could be a Rebadged Version of an Older Note Series Smartphone

Xiaomi is gearing up for the launch of the next generation of Note series smartphones in India and other markets. The company recently announced the 8th anniversary of the Note series in India. Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 11 series in March but the next generation of the Note 12 series could debut soon. Xiaomi has already launched the Redmi Note 12 series in China. The India/ Global variant might pack different specs. While most of the phones will support 5G, an upcoming Redmi Note 12 Pro 4G has been spotted online.

Xiaomi is expected to launch the Redmi Note 12 Pro 4G soon. While there is no word on the launch date, a new report has revealed some key details about the upcoming Redmi Note 12 series smartphone. The Note 12 Pro 4G is likely a rebranded version of an older-generation model. Let’s take a look at the Redmi Note 12 Pro 4G specifications, features and other details.

Is the Redmi Note 12 Pro 4G Just a Rebadged Redmi Note 10 Pro?

Xiaomi is likely to launch the Redmi Note 12 Pro 4G as a rebadged version of the Redmi Note 10 Pro in select markets in the coming weeks. The device was spotted on the IMEI database by XiaomiUI, which revealed that it is codenamed sweet_k6a_global. The Redmi Note 10 Pro global variant, on the other hand, has the codename sweet_global. In India, the global variant of the Redmi Note 10 Pro was launched as the Note 10 Pro Max.

XiaomiUI claimed that sweet_k6a_global was previously set to launch as the Redmi Note 11 Pro 2023. However, Xiaomi has now changed the name of the device to sync its moniker with the latest generation of the Note series. Xiaomi has previously done with so the Redmi Note 9 Pro, which was later launched as the Redmi Note 10 Lite. The Redmi Note 11 SE was also launched earlier this year as a rebadged Redmi Note 10S from last year.

The Redmi Note 12 Pro has the model number K6a, whereas the Note 10 Pro’s model number is K6. There is a possibility of the Note 12 Pro getting some design improvements, according to the report. Other specifications of the device will be the same as the Note 10 Pro, aka the Note 10 Pro Max India variant. The device could feature a 108MP quad-camera setup on the back with an 8MP ultrawide camera, a 5MP macro camera and a 2MP depth sensor. For selfies, there will be a 16MP front camera sensor.

The 4G smartphone will draw power from a Snapdragon 732G SoC. It will pack a 5020mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. The device is also expected to sport a 6.67-inch Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and HDR-10 support. Xiaomi is likely to launch the Note 12 Pro 4G with Android 12-based MIUI 13 out of the box. It would be interesting to see if the company rolls out the Android 13 update soon after the launch as most other smartphones launching in December or later are expected to feature the latest Android update.
