Xiaomi 13 Series Launch Set for December 11: Specifications and Expected Price

Xiaomi 13 series launch was scheduled for December 1 in China. The company postponed the Xiaomi 13 launch due to the death of the former Chinese president. Now, the brand has announced a new launch date for the Xiaomi 13 series in China. As per the announcement, the Xiaomi 13 series will launch on December 11. The brand has already confirmed that the Xiaomi 13 series smartphones will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor.

Xiaomi, via the launch teasers, has also confirmed that Xiaomi 13 will consist of two devices – Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro. The Xiaomi 13 Pro is confirmed to use a 1-inch Sony IMX989 sensor which we have previously seen on the Xiaomi 12S Ultra. Let us take a closer look at what we know about the Xiaomi 13 series so far.

Xiaomi 13 Series: All Variants (Expected)

Xiaomi, via the launch teasers, has confirmed the existence of the Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro under the Xiaomi 13 series. Looks like the brand will not launch the successor of the Xiaomi 12X. To those unaware, the brand had launched three smartphones under Xiaomi 12 series – Xiaomi 12X, Xiaomi 12, and Xiaomi 12 Pro. The Xiaomi 12X was the cheapest of the trio and was the company’s attempt at the compact flagship segment.

As per the teasers and leaks, the Xiaomi 13 will feature a flat display and a flat-edge design. Whereas, the Xiaomi 13 Pro will have a curved display panel.

Xiaomi 13 Series: Specifications we know so far

The Xiaomi 13 series smartphones are confirmed to sport Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 was announced a couple of weeks back, is manufactured on a 4nm process and brings with it an integrated Adreno 740 GPU. The company has also revealed that the upcoming flagships will use LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage.

Xiaomi has confirmed that the Xiaomi 13 Pro will feature a 1-inch Sony IMX989 sensor. This is the same sensor that we have seen in action on the Xiaomi 12S Ultra. The Xiaomi 13 series smartphones are also confirmed to sport a 75mm telephoto lens with f/2.0 aperture and Leica imaging technology. Also, the Xiaomi 13 series devices will feature an IP68 rating.

The Xiaomi 13 series smartphones are said to feature a 120Hz AMOLED display with 1900nits peak brightness. The Xiaomi 13 will be backed by a 4,500mAh battery and 67W fast charging support. Whereas, the Xiaomi 13 Pro will be powered by a 4820mAh battery unit and 120W fast charging support. We can expect Xiaomi to include 50W wireless charging and 10W reverse wireless charging support on the upcoming flagship, similar to last year’s Xiaomi 12 series.

Xiaomi 13 Series: Expected Price

The Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro were launched at RMB 3699 (approx Rs 44,000) and RMB 4699 (approx Rs 55,500) respectively. We can expect the Xiaomi 13 series to be priced under RMB 3999 (approx Rs 47,500) for the base variant. Whereas, the Xiaomi 13 Pro base variant should be priced under RMB 4999 (approx Rs 59,300).
