Amazon has already made a mark with the introduction of its DTH streaming services via the Amazon Fire Stick and Amazon Fire Set-top-box and now it is looking to make further disruption to the market with a new technology that allows users to record live TV including cable TV.
Meet “Frank” Amazon’s Live TV recorder:
A person familiar with the development of the device recently revealed information regarding this technology. The technology is dubbed as “Frank”, although this may just be the codename and the company may choose to rechristen the device as something else.
The device is a new age digital recorder that is relevant to the digital era, where data streaming has more popularity. Amazon’s recording device, Frank, will integrate with Amazon’s streaming device, which is the Fire TV stick and boxes and the devices will record and store content on them. The anonymous person refused to identify, on account of discussing a product that is still currently unreleased and under development. When Amazon was reached out to, a spokesperson from the company refused to comment on the launch of the new device.
