Xiaomi Mi Band 3 With OLED Touch Screen, Heart-rate Sensor Launched in Taiwan: Price, Features

Xiaomi’s latest smartband, the Mi Band 3, was launched in May this year. The Mi Band series from Xiaomi has been a very successful product, and the latest iteration makes it even better. At first, the smartband was only available for purchase in China, Russia, Pakistan, and Malaysia. And now, the company has launched it in Taiwan as well.

The company launched the Mi Band 3 in Taiwan during a special conference in the country. It also revealed the pricing and availability of the different models of the smartband. The band was released in India recently, during the launch of the Mi A2, but it isn’t available for purchase yet. Xiaomi plans on launching the band in several more regions across the world.

The Mi Band 3 is a budget fitness band that comes with a load of features, without the hefty price tag. If you are looking for a cheap fitness band, then the Mi Band 3 is a great choice.

You will also be able to buy the Mi Band 3 from Gearbest for $28.99, and from Geekbuying for $30.99. Now that the band has been launched in Taiwan, we expect it to be available for purchase in India very soon. Hopefully by the end of this month or early next month, users in India will be able to buy one from the Mi India store.

Xiaomi Mi Band 3: Specifications, Features

As mentioned earlier, the Mi Band 3 from Xiaomi is a budget fitness band. It carries on the tradition of previous Mi Bands, with a similar design, but with added features. Like the Mi Band 2, the Mi Band 3 also comes with a touch display. You can view a slew of information on the touchscreen display.
The band will connect your Android or iOS smartphone via Bluetooth, and show notifications, weather information, text messages, incoming calls, and more. The band features NFC and Bluetooth 4.2 for connectivity. It has a rectangular 0.78-inch OLED black and white display, bigger than the one found on the Mi Band 2, that contours around the wrist. The display has a resolution of 120 x 80 pixels, nothing great, but enough to view all the information on the small screen. It is protected by scratch-resistant glass. A clickable button is available on the front, which allows you to perform certain actions and navigate through the UI.
The Mi Band 3 is mainly a fitness band with a long battery life. As it is more fitness focused, you get reminders to stand, if you’ve been sitting for too long. It has a Photoplethysmography heart rate sensor, acceleration sensor, step counter, and can also monitor sleep. Xiaomi has also made the band more waterproof than before. It can now stay under for longer, which is good for some rigorous swim sessions. The band has a 110mAh battery, which can last up to 20 days on a single charge. This is one of the best selling points of the Mi Band 3. The band works with Android devices running Android 4.4 or later, and with iOS devices running iOS 9 or later.
