
Most Xiaomi fans are currently looking forward to the stable MIUI 10 update to arrive on their smartphones. Xiaomi has announced that it will begin pushing the stable Global MIUI 10 update for select smartphones before the end of the third quarter. In China, Xiaomi today started pushing the MIUI 10 stable version update for the Mi 6, which was announced last year.
MIUI 10: Now Available for the Mi 6 in China
The Redmi 6 was among the first smartphones to receive the MIUI 10 Global beta last month, alongside smartphones like the Redmi Note 5 and the Mi MIX series. Earlier today, Xiaomi began pushing the stable MIUI 10 update for the Mi 6 in China. It arrives as version 10.0.1.0.OCACNFH and weighs in at 589MB in terms of size for users who had the MIUI 10 beta firmware installed on their devices. For now, it appears the update has only reached a small group of users in China. We expect the update to slowly spread to a larger batch of devices across China. In the coming days, we can expect Xiaomi to roll out the MIUI 10 Global stable update as well for the Mi 6. The beginning of the MIUI 10 stable rollout for the Mi 6 suggests Xiaomi will be able to keep its promise and begin pushing the stable MIUI 10 update for its latest devices before the end of the third quarter. Owners of older Xiaomi smartphones, will, of course, need to wait longer to get the stable MIUI 10 update.
MIUI 10 Stable Update for Mi 6: What’s New?
The new MIUI 10 stable update for the Mi 6 comes with a number of new features like built-in natural sounds to help users sleep easily. Xiaomi has also added a powerful voice AI features as well as support for IoT connectivity. Xiaomi claims users can use the voice AI feature for playing music, navigation while driving, and messaging. Some of the other changes included with the latest software release include support for Sony’s LDAC Bluetooth codec, camera optimizations for the AI Portrait Mode, and more.Apart from the new features, MIUI 10 focuses on improved performance using AI to optimize the user experience. It also comes with AI Preload, which is aimed at reducing app load times and other key UI elements. As with any major update, Mi 6 owners in China can also look forward to a host of minor bug fixes and enhancements with the MIUI 10 stable update.

Mi 6: Specifications, Features
Announced in April last year, the Mi 6 features a 5.15-inch IPS LCD display with 1080 x 1920 Full resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor clocked at 2.45 GHz with an Adreno 540 GPU. It comes in two variants – 6GB RAM + 128GB storage and 4GB RAM + 64GB storage. Further expansion, however, is not supported.
At the rear is a 12MP + 12MP dual-camera setup with 2x optical zoom, PDAF, and 4-axis optical image stabilization. At the front is an 8MP sensor for selfies and video calls. Connectivity features include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac dual-band, Bluetooth 5.0 Low Energy, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, NFC, USB Type-C, 4G VoLTE, and an IR blaster. The smartphone is fueled by a 3350mAh capacity battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 support. It also includes a front-mounted fingerprint sensor and stereo speakers for impressive audio. The smartphone measures 145.2 x 70.5 x 7.5mm and weighs in at 168 grams. While not water resistant, the Mi 6 does come with splash resistance, a feature we don’t find on the newer Xiaomi flagship smartphones.
