OPPO F9 Pro, F9 Pink Colour Variant Certified on TENAA; Expected to Launch Soon?

Oppo F9 Pro

The Chinese company Oppo will start selling its new mid-range smartphones called Oppo F9 and Oppo F9 Pro from August 31. The mobile phones have already been announced, and Oppo showed off three colour editions for the handsets. Today, a leaked listing on the website of the Chinese certification agency (TENAA) has revealed another colour for the two handsets, increasing the range of their colour chart to four.

Oppo F9, Oppo F9 Pro: New Colour

The Oppo F9 and Oppo F9 Pro have been listed and certified in a pink colour variant on TENAA, and the colour looks somewhat light and faded. This colour edition will add to the already-announced colours: Starry Purple, Sunrise Red, and Twilight Blue.

While we do not know the name for this pink edition yet, we can expect it to sound catchy like the other ones. Also, since the three colours were given names in reference to the sky, the pink one also could very well be named something that makes you look up.

Oppo F9, F9 Pro: Specifications

The Oppo F9 and F9 Pro are mid-range smartphones and Oppo has already given away some of the details about these phones. The two handsets are revealed to be powered by a Helio P60 chipset, which is Mediatek’s flagship octa-core processor. The Oppo F9 and F9 Pro will also feature the Waterdrop Display, as the design seems to be taking over the notched display trend. This new style of notched display also gives smartphones more than 90 per cent screen-to-body ratio, with the tall display design making the aspect ratio a better-than-ever 19.5:9.

The phones will sport a 6.3-inch IPS LCD display with Full HD+ resolution and a new, advanced Corning Gorilla Glass 6. The RAM is 4GB in the F9 and 6GB in the F9 Pro, with 64GB internal storage and a dedicated SD card slot common to both. The memory can be taken up to 256GB.

The two smartphones will also carry dual rear cameras. Camera gear on the Oppo F9 Pro includes a solid 24MP front shooter that comes with artificial intelligence, Beautification technology, and f/2.0. The rear camera has a 12MP primary sensor with a wide f/1.85 aperture, phase-detection autofocus, and HDR mode, and the depth sensor is 2MP. On the Oppo F9, the front snapper is a smaller 16MP camera, but the rear dual camera is the same.

The Oppo F9 Pro also gets VOOC flash charging for its 3,500mAh battery, so that the handset can draw two hours worth of talktime in just 5 minutes of charging, but the Oppo F9 misses out on VOOC charging. The Oppo F9, however, gets the same 3,500mAh battery. Both handsets also get Face Unlock and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. The two handsets get ColorOS 5.2 user interface, which is the latest by Oppo and is based on Android 8.1 Oreo.

Connectivity wise, they get dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 4.2, a 3.5mm audio jack and A-GPS, but both miss out on the Type-C USB, instead settling for the older microUSB 2.0.

Oppo F9, F9 Pro: Price in India

The Oppo F9 is the cheaper variant here and costs Rs 19,999, while the Oppo F9 Pro costs Rs 23,999, which is Rs 4,000 costlier. Both handsets have been announced and will go on sale starting August 31, but Flipkart has put up a pre-order page for the F9 Pro only. As mentioned above, the storage on both handsets is the same 64GB but the RAM on the Oppo F9 is a smaller 4GB while the Pro version gets a 6GB RAM.

Now that we know, we can tell you with confidence that the handsets will come in a pink colour apart from the blue, red, and purple. However, it is unlikely that the pink edition will come immediately.
