Patanjali’s chatting app Kimbho was supposed to begin its operations yesterday on Google Play Store. But it failed to go live, delaying the launch of WhatsApp’s rival app, once again. Acharya Balkrishna, Managing Director, Patanjali Ayurved tweeted that the new official launch date for the Kimbho app will be announced soon.
Kimbho: The Not Yet Happening ‘Swadeshi’ App

Kimbho: 5 Reasons for Launch Delay
1. The hold-up in Kimbho’s introduction to the general public has been caused by a number of reasons. First and the foremost is the app’s poor performance and deficient security. This was what had caused the app to be removed from the Play Store in May, early this year.
2. The second time, the app reappeared on the Google Store on 15th August. It was a reworked trial version with ‘end-to-end’ encryption. But those who downloaded the WhatsApp’s rival chatting app faced several issues. Problematic uploading of profile picture and poor performing user interface were just a couple of ones of them.
3. Third reason hindering the launch of the mobile messaging app is the company’s stance on sharing user’s personal information with other third-party vendors. In the beta versions of the Kimbho app’s privacy policy, it is clearly stated that Patanjali will not share or sell a user’s personal information with third-party companies for marketing or commercial use.
Added belatedly is a statement that says, the company will share the user’s personal information to the degree it is reasonably required to act, enhance, or support the services of the messenger
Every time Patanjali readies itself for Kimbho’s official launch, its trial versions start giving issues and the messenger app’s Noida based developers; Social Revolution Media and Research Pvt Ltd, pull the chatting app offline only for it to reappear a while later with issues resolved. This time too the app was downloaded 50,000 times already before it was unceremoniously removed from the Play Store.
4. Kimbho’s multiple unscheduled disappearances from the Store is the fourth reason the launch of the app keeps getting delayed. Though to listen to the officials of the company, they believe that their ‘Swadeshi’ app is falling victim of a conspiracy at the hands of foreign MNCs.

This, they say is precluded by the offensive content against Baba Ramdev’s multi-billion dollar Ayurvedic company Patanjali was posted on social media sites like Youtube, Facebook, and Google. The company has already filed a defamation case against the three and is awaiting judgement on the same.
5. Fifth and probably the most important reason for Kimbho to be still stuck at the trial stage is that Aditi Kamal, lead developer and brain behind Kimbho, has quit the company to launch her own ‘Bolo’ messenger. The company and the app’s developers developed differences regarding some terms and conditions.
Some users who have used the trial versions of the ‘Swadeshi’ chat app have remarked on Kimbho’s striking similarity to a foreign chat app, Bolo.
Amidst all the conjectures and the speculations, Balakrishna tweeted that, “We appreciate your excitement over the official launch of Kimbho app. We inform you that trials, reviews, and upgradation is in the process to make Kimbho most safe, convenient, and secure Swadeshi app of your first choice.”
