The company has also enabled HDR 10 and Dolby Vision support for the UBP X700 in the form of a firmware update.

Features of the UBP X700 Ultra HD player:

Sony’s latest device is the most powerful of its kind in the country and has capabilities to support Blu-Ray and 4K ultra HD playbacks. The device has also been optimized in the right manner to deliver HDR images and media from the device to the TV, without any loss in quality or lag. The HDR10 and Dolby Vision support for the device provide state of the art detailing of media, vivid colour and optimal brightness. Both these features will soon be available for support via a firmware update that will be released soon.

The biggest advantage of an HDR10 signal is that this has a hundred times the brightness that standard signals (SDR) can every produce. With 4K resolution support, the device is able to process cinematic experience by display eight million pixels on the screen, which is a whopping four times higher than regular full high definition support. It also provides support to 4K videos from other sources that provide online streaming sources such as Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, Hulu and YouTube.

It also helps users to play media with ease as it is built in with an intuitive menu, apps, interface as well as features that are aligned and organized in a simplistic manner to help easy navigation.

So this will surely go down well even with those that struggle with handling most electronic playback devices. Those with 4K SDR TV support can also view 4K HDR media content that produces high-quality images.

The best part about this device is that even SDR media, which is of much lower quality, can be streamed through the device and will be converted into HDR content in a small manner, with the help of HDR’s ultra-wide brightness range that is played as an SDR image. In addition to best in quality video support and audio file support, the device also offers support for best audio playback in the form of DTS-X support, so now users can get the best audio playback output from their speakers.

Furthermore, it is also compact in terms of size as it is 12.6 inches long and 8.27 inches broad and 1.77 inches in thickness. The device is also extremely lightweight at just 1.4 kgs despite packing a punch with all of its high-end features. Users can also play high-quality images from the player as it supports a range of formats that include JPEG, GIF, BMP, PNG, MPO and WEBP. The only limitation to the device is that it doesn’t feature support for Bluetooth. However it does come in with other forms of connectivity and streaming options like Wi-fi, MIMO and Screen Mirroring features.
