Google Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL Funny Japanese Video Teaser Reveals ‘Active Edge’ Feature

The Pixel 3 and the Pixel 3 XL are going to be launching this month during an event that will take place in New York City. Both smartphones are also going to be accompanied with the Active Edge feature, which triggers when a user squeezes the handset, and according to the defined settings of the device, a specific action will take place. A funny Japanese video has surfaced, which highlights this Active Edge feature that will be seen on the Pixel 3 and the Pixel 3 XL. Hopefully, Google will be able to add more features to it such that it ends up being more useful to the buyer as these smartphones are not going to be cheap in any manner.

On Google’s teaser page for the Pixel in Japan, a video can be checked out below which reveals that both the Pixel 3 and the Pixel 3 XL will be arriving in the country soon. The brief video shows a bit on Japan’s culture while also briefly showing the feature that is the Active Edge. For some time, we have known that both these devices are going to come with this little addition. However, how flexible does Google intend on making this feature actually useful, that is something we will get to know about in the future. For now, it should be noted that activating Active Edge will open up Google Assistant.

Google Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL: Launch Date

Google will be launching the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL on the 9th of October at New York City. Only after both smartphones have officially been launched, will we know the pricing details of the handsets in India. The silver lining in all of this is that if you do not want to upgrade to the Pixel 3 or the Pixel 3 XL and you are completely fine in purchasing the Pixel 2 or Pixel 2 XL, there is good news for you. The pricing of the aforementioned handsets is expected to drop even further as the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL land in India, so stay tuned for that.

Google Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL: Rumoured Features, Specifications

The Pixel 3 is expected to feature a 5.4-inch OLED panel, while the Pixel 3 XL is expected to sport a much larger 6.7-inch screen bearing the same display technology. Both smartphones are expected to be similar in hardware specifications; a Snapdragon 845, 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage for the base models are expected. There is going to be no microSD card slot for storage expansion, unfortunately. Both phones will also feature a 12MP single shooter at the back while getting an 8.1MP dual-camera at the front. The Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL will also get Android 9 Pie right off the bat, giving you access to a lot of features immediately.
